I'm just going to post this here in the hopes that Brian Flores somehow sees it;

Hey Brian, there hasn't been a rule enacted that makes it illegal for you to cover slot routes coming across the middle. In fact, there hasn't been a rule against covering receivers at all. Maybe consider trying something like that in the second half.

Speaking of rules, I don't like the new roughing the passer rule. Any defender who tackles a QB from the front and is a split second late, meaning the QB manages to throw the ball away, will get punished because he can't avoid landing on the QB when both go to the ground. Did nobody at the NFL headquarters consider the laws of physics?

You're not alone there. I believe the main thrust of it is that the defender can't land on the quarterback, but, I mean, same effect really.

Didn't think the Jags would do it, but I'm impressed.

I hope Dallas goes after Josh Gordon. We need him badly.

Raiders still choking, Gruden-style!

Man the Pats made Bortles look amazing.

Our defense was absolute shit today. It was like we reverted back to 2017 instantly after playing pretty well against Houston. We couldn't generate any kind of pressure without blitzing, and nobody but Gilmore could cover anyone. If we don't figure out how to cover the middle of the field we're gonna get 30 points hung on us consistently.

Mahomes seems to be the real deal. The AFC wont be a walk in the park for the Patriots. The Jags and the Chiefs will give them a hard fight for it.

I'm feeling pretty confident about the Patriots' chances heading into Jacksonville this week (at least, so long as Gronk can play the whole game this time). I feel like our defense is better set up to get pressure on Bortles and keep him from just sitting in the pocket all day like he did in the AFCG last year. Time will tell if that feeling's warranted, but I think if the Giants could hold the Jags to 20 points, we should be able to as well, and I think that'll be enough for a win.

That didn't play out like you expected.

The Jags held Gronk to 2 catches for 15 yards and the Pats couldn't contain Bortles for nothing - 377 yards, 4 TDs, no sacks and 3 (almost 4) rushing 1st downs.

Oh, and they had to reply on Bortles because their #1 RB was out for the game.  With the run game gone the game plan was simple.  Stop Bortles.

Any other obvious things you'd like to fill me in on? Perhaps give me a rundown of why trading Khalil Mack was a terrible idea, or how Santa Claus isn't actually real.

Welp, the bright spot to the weekend is that the Patriots have now acquired Josh Gordon from the Browns in exchange for a fifth round pick. This could be fantastic if he can finally stop smoking pot long enough to play.
