The ps4 is in the process of creating more history. 

 

According to vgchartz the PSP sold an impressive 80.8m units and the GBA 81m units. The ps4 has now surpassed those to become the 8th best selling console of all time.

 

The ps4 has now shipped 82.2m. In the next few months it will take out the 360 and then the ps3 to become the 6th best selling of all time. Next year it will target the Wii and ps1 to become the 4th best seller. Finally I think it takes the GB at 120m and will sit comfortably as the 3rd best selling console ever but the 2nd best selling traditional home console after the ps2.

That's why i don't want they go in rush mode to release PS5. Just make it more powerful , prepare more new ip for PS5 and let the PS4 sells a lot.

if they do that then they will lose next gen

 

and PS4 sales as it is will slow down in 1-2 years that it will  never make more than 120-130m

If they wait too long they have the potential to lose everything to the switch as cross console games though.

Still has potential to hit ~120m imo.
So PSP & GBA arnt going to be the last consoles it passes by.

120mm is a big number, and it is a long way away. It could happen, but I wouldn't bet on it at this point.

PS4 got very solid chances to hit 120m. Just wait for 7nm process and 149 ps4 "nano", the thing will keep selling for years and years. Sure, it will not sell over 15M units after ps5, but, whit the correct price, it's possible.

they arent going to lose next gen if they do. 

They PS4 will just become cheaper and act as the entry level model into the ecosystem. PS5 will have BC with PS4, and Sony's AAA budget games will move to PS5 while the AA budget and digital titles remain come to PS4 for a year or 2 (alongside MLB). 

PS4 dropping in price will allow it to continue selling for a good few years (something the PS3 couldnt do because it was just too difficult to drop the price, ad because PS4 was doing so well that it was better just to phase the PS3 out) to lower income brackets and 2nd console buyers. 

if they release PS5 any later than XBOX NEXT then they will have a problem,not a big one but Microsoft have alot of money to make that their advantage

if they want to drop the price of PS4,it should happen this or next year
