There was no mayor release in June or July. maybeeeee the crew 2???

Not that I mentioned June, but Switch got Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus and Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana the same week as the Crew 2 came out, so it's not like your point can be the Switch had drought for the last week of June. Anyways it's not like the Crew 2 was the most substantial of releases with a 67 on metacritic and doubtful sales with Crash on Switch outselling it's PS4 and Xbox One versions in the UK on release.

I think you read my post in another tone. I was adding to your " is there any major releases for PS4 or Xbox One this July? " that neither there was any major release in june. that only the Crew 2 could count as a major release and the maybeeeeeeeeee part was because i agree that is a major release that sucks.

But at the same time, Nintendo loyalists who did buy the Wii U and played the games on it feel kind of left out to dry. Porting the Wii U games is definitely good, but expecting them to clog holes in the lineup leaves the people who bought Wii U in an awkward position where they have to buy the same games again or just sit and wait.

I think you could also say the opposite, the lineup is pretty solid for people who have only owned Nintendo devices, a whole bunch of 3rd party games that skipped Wii, Wii U & 3DS are getting ported to Switch.

But i agree for people who owned multiple previous and current gen devices than most of the library is games they already had access to which could make it lackluster for them.

I have a fairly long list of indie (which essentially just means -not- Ubi/Actiblizz/THQ/Microsoft/Bethesda/Capcom/Bamco/Squeenix/Nintendo/Sony to y'all kids nowadays) releases from the past decade that I'd like to see make an appearance on Switch.

So... FIFA is now Indie? Because EA is totally missing in your list of big publishers. Take Two/2K and Warner are also missing.

Haha, yeah, I figured there might have been a few I forgot. :D

But it kinda goes to show. Where's the cut-off, really?
Is Valve "indie" because they aren't a publicly traded company? Is Team17 one of the big boys, since they've been publishing physical games for over 20 years?

Is Tencent, Riot, Supercell, Gameloft, Goodgame, Innogames, Bigpoint, Big Fish etc. all to be ignored completely for being "webtrash" or "mobile trash"?

Is Zynga just NOT a game dev anymore because their stock value and visibility vanished after Facebook introduced perma-blocks for game invites? (Trick question, nobody cares and nobody misses them.)

What makes a game AA/AAA?

Only games that interest him. Hence I refer to my original comment.

Is Fortnite AAA?

Is Fortnite AAA?

Depends on if it interests you.

If GTA 5 is AAA, I want less AAA games.

Great to see all these indies - gives me a lot of potential work as a reviewer hehe

I'm confused as to how there is so much conversation about droughts in the same topic that states "20-30 indie games per week on Switch". I guess some just don't see Indies as "real" games but to me many of these games should definitely be in the conversation, hell some of the indies I've played I've enjoyed more than some of the AAA blockbusters these days.

I actually have the opposite problem in that there are more games I want to play for Switch than I know what to do with. It's worth mentioning that i also own an Xbox One, and a significant portion of my gaming time these days is filled up by Overwatch and games I have to play for reviews, but regardless, there are a ton of already released Switch games and soon to be released games I still want to try - Skyrim, Wolfenstein, Dark Souls, Payday 2, Stardew Valley, Rocket League, Hyrule Warriors, Wulver Blade, Bloodstained, Minecraft (really want a physical and handheld version of MC even though I played the alpha version to death on the PC), Octopath, Wargroove, Super Mario Party. It's definitly port heavy, but most of these games I either haven't played much, or haven't played at all.

I guess you could make the argument that Switch is still lacking on those major third party AAA releases, especially in terms of exclusives and non old ports, but I guess I just don't place as much value in those as some do.

That's an awful lot of indies to choose from from just one week. I only hope for the sake of the developers that they don't eat into each others' sales too much.

"This game doesn't appeal to me, therefore they don't count, therefore drought".

Yeah, all games Switch get since early this year are indie only, LMAO
