They're bigger for one.  They buy larger quantities as well.  Which makes sense because they are brick and mortar stores.  Which is another factor.  Basically, Amazon is smaller, buys less, and has far less overhead.

That makes sense. So I guess if Amazon bought as much as Walmart, they'd get the same deal?

I mean, in theory it would help.  But these are all deals negotiated periodically, so it wouldn't happen overnight.  But Amazon is not really interested in increasing its overhead, it just wants that same deal.  Which is where the conflicts come from.  No idea how frequent this is with products outside the game sphere mind you.  Amazon probably has more leverage elsewhere.

Mario Tennis Aces is out of stock. i guess thats why the digital version is up in the top 20.

I hope this means great things for Octopath Traveler. Seeing more original third party titles succeed will be great and, hopefully, show other developers that they can do more than just release ports on the system.

Nothing wrong with PS4. Amazon likely wants a cheaper wholesale price and Sony ain't budging. So sales that would have gone to Amazon are going to Best Buy/Gamestop/Wallmart/etc until Amazon realizes that it's not going to be given special treatment since PS4 can sell its share just fine without it..

Or it's the other way around : Sony having lowered the retailer share and Amazon wants to have exactly none of it. The gaming outlets like Gamestop and Best buy have to take it as they are in no position to refuse it since PS4 consoles and games are still their bread and butter for income, but someone like Amazon who has a much more versatile offering in its shop actually won't feel much from refusing a worse deal than they had before.

Not too bothered about who is to blame really, as long as it helps the Switch to sell as much as it can. The Switch reigns supreme on Amazon and long may that continue.

I wonder if it will sell over 1 million in the US during it's first week? Brawl did 1.35 million in it's first week in NA.

Looks like people underestimated Mario Party ^^
