Forums - Gaming Discussion - Black Ops 4 Is Setting A Dangerous Precedent

Frankly everyone is blowing it out of proportion, it might not be labelled as campaign but the challenges and missions stuffed under the other name essentially give the same singleplayer experience as every other CoD

I think this should have happened sooner or later. COD fanbase mostly cares only about MP so why spend a lot of money on it?

No Campaign? No purchase.- It's value in adding into my collection has been completely and utterly lost.
I suppose I should thank Activision for saving this collector a little bit of cash.

I can justify buying Overwatch without a campaign because I was playing it daily, that's never happened for me with any Call of Duty game, ever.
But I do occasionally pick up a Call of Duty game and give the singleplayer a run through, intend to do that with WW2 in the next few months when I have free time to burn,

They made it clear that multiplayer content is front and center, so it's no problem to the consumer if those very consumers are accepting of the decision.

What I don't understand is I would have thought that if they did actually get rid of the proper single player that there would be a lot more content for the rest of the modes in return as a result of them having even more time to work on that stuff, but for the most part it still looks the same just with one new mode and 2 extra zombie maps. Correct me if i'm wrong or forgetting something that was mentioned.

Like, did the devs state that the only way they could fit in a battle royale mode was to not work on a proper single player or something?

I guess we'll just have to wait and see how big these "solo story missions" for each character are or whatever.

Um it looks like CoD but there has been a lot and i mean a lot of changes to the MP. The game went from 6v6 to now 5v5, smaller maps. Each specialist now have special abilities that unlock once or twice a match. There is no more auto heal so you will have to heal yourself and also there is a medic specialist that can provide extra health for the team. Its a very big change up to the CoD multiplayer.

Also each of the 9 specialist will have there own mini campaigns that will probably end up being as long as a standard CoD multiplayer.

I meant in terms of content it looks similar to a lot of the past COD's not how it plays

yeah there are a lot of changes to the multiplayer but it's still the modes multiplayer, zombies, and now battle royale instead of campaign, though the characters have 'solo missions' as they described but we don't know how big those will be like I said already

again, unless the devs state that they wouldn't have been able to make the battle royale mode/multiplayer changes if they made a proper single player, then we ultimately don't know

We have GoW to save us, no worries.

GoW is a great single-player game, yes. But, how is this third-person hack n' slash about Norse Mythology supposed to scratch the itch for the people who want a FPS campaign with guns? Completely different gameplay.

What little interest I might have had on the new CoD is pretty much gone now, not that I really cared that much in the first place. The single player campaign might have been the one thing if done well enough that could have made me buy the game at some point at a discount, but with that gone I'm more or less done with the series most likely.

I really enjoy CoD single player, although I havent owned one since BLOPSII, probably will avoid the series until singleplayers back
