73,6m for PS4 right by end of December 2017.... as is the time for the 103m number.

73,6m (Playstation) - (Playstation Japan) -  (xbox japan) = 33,4m? or so for xbox end of 2017.Then you add in what you expect Xbox to have sold jan, feb, march, april... and you ll have current xbox numbers.

You guys are crazy if you think EA would be quoting a number for PS4 when it is already public knowledge that they sold 73.6 million.

There is literally no way you would know what Xbox has sold and neither would VGChartz estimations.

There is no way that EA wouldn't know either.  We can defend Vgchartz numbers when we know the are pulled from the imagination for Xbox.

EA doesn't know, it's estimating, and so are we. Of course we can't know for sure what the Xbox numbers are.

Well, yeah. America is definitely buying way more X1's than any other country. Even if we go by VGChartz estimates.

Of course, but there are other markets the xbox one sells in too. To suggest one market makes up 80% share of any console is rediculous.

What if you are the one who is wrong.   Show me proof of the existence of any country where Xbox is big.  UK is the second biggest and they are losing their too.

Microsoft's greatest deception was making anyone think it is bigger than it really is.  For goodness sakes when are we gonna admit that at least half of the sales of the 360 were second purchases.

I love competition but I hate having to create this fake image to make one seem bigger than it is. EA knows what the are talking about more than anyone on this site but we have act like they don't?  For what?

EA estimation is no way as contrived as ours.  You think they would form partnerships with Microsoft without first knowing?  That's not how business works.  You don't for partnerships in utter ignorance.

Damn. Looks like XBO might be overtracked here by 5M-6M.

No joke. That's brutal.

You guys think MS are gonna make a response towards this?

This is not looking to good for them at the moment. Maybe they will finally drop the secrecy and say how much they sold.

The thing I don't get though is why is Xbox One selling so well in the US but doing crap in Europe? And why is Playstation selling so well there, even consistently outselling the Switch?

Its just how its always been.

North America has made up about 33% of sales for Sony home consoles while its closer to 60% for Microsoft consoles.

No because they would have to confront the fact that they are the only company that hides sales.  Whatever it is, it is made even more embarrassing due to their hiding.

Guys, Zhuge already confirmed that EA are talking out their ass. He said that he knows for a fact that XB1 has sold over 35m worldwide, which makes EA's number impossible since Sony's announced number plus 35m+ for XB1 exceeds EA's number.

https://www.resetera.com/threads/ea-has-provided-a-new-combined-install-base-estimate-for-ps4-xb1-read-op.41231/page-2#post-7694131

Who is he and why is this one person more informed than an entity that does business directly with Microsoft? How does he know 'for fact'? Does he work for Microsoft because that is the only way I would say he know more than EA?

He is a insider and EA numbers dont even match up with NPD numbers anyway. End of 2016 their estimates were 25.6m but end of 2017 their estimates are 29.4m for XBO which means it sold 3.8m in 2017 but we know it sold 4.2m in the US alone in 2017 from NPD so EA's estimates dont include Japan or are inaccurate.

You don't even need Zhuge to confirm that EA's numbers aren't "right" because those numbers are referring to the installed base, not sold-through numbers. At one point, about half of the PS4 Pro's sales were upgrade purchases meaning that only half of the Pro's sales would add to the installed base total.

Another piece of evidence that proves that the XB1's sold-through numbers were over 30m by the end of 2017 is JRR's XB1 shipment estimates. They have it at 32.15m and there's absolutely no way that over 2m units were stuck on shelves.
