I don't get what the problem is? It's up to the companies to advertise or not and it's up to him if he accepts the apology or not. If followers would start to harass her in her personal life, that would be an issue but that the free market reacts this way shouldn't be an issue if you believe in the free market and consumer power. Also, she obviously "apologized" since the advertisers pulled out. That is not an actual apology, it's more of a company statement because they are loosing revenue.

He caught some shit because he posted something dumb online and he reacted to catching some shit by trying to get her advertisements removed. He proved her point for her. She should have never apologized to that smug brat.

It's called 'comment farming' and the technique has been employed extensively in the last years.

Here is another one for you. Frank Stallone, brother of Sylvester Stallone commenting on Hogg:

"This David Hogg pussy is getting a little big for his britches. I'm sure someone from his age group is dying to sucker punch this rich little bitch,” Stallone wrote in his original Tweet, which has since been deleted. “Watch him run home like the coward he is. He's the worst rep for today's youth headline grabbing punk."

Frank Stallone then apologized:

“To everyone and to David Hogg especially. I want to deeply apologize for my irresponsible words. I would never in a million years wish or promote violence to anyone anywhere on this planet,” he Tweeted on Easter Sunday. “After what these kids went though I’m deeply ashamed. Please accept my apology. Frank”

I do not understand how anyone can defend these people attack Hogg. So many people are attacking these Parkland kids for the wrong reasons. Any criticism that doesn't go against the points they are arguing is off base and uncalled for. Saying that they are young and therefore no one should listen to them, wishing violence on them, calling them nazis, and saying they are bought and paid for just shows you do not have an articulate way to counter their arguments.

I mean...sure it's up to him to accept but that doesn't mean we're not allowed to comment on how that reflects on his character; that goes especially so when people want to play mind-reader of the insulting party's apology and make even greater demands before accepting it.  Last I checked, civil discourse between adults tends to continue when the party at fault owns up to their mistake.  Or does being less than a year from legal adulthood give him the right to still act like an immature child?

In order to help you get the problem some perceive from this debacle, allow me to take a stab at it.  The issue seems to stem from the notion of making this young man--who has been through a terrible ordeal that we can all sympathize--as a prop, regardless of his poor past actions.  For 'the left' to take such umbrage to virtually everything Trump has said for the past two years to only pirouette on basic decorum of political debate, willingly abstain from correcting false info he's presented on national TV (Reliable Sources), and disregard these infantile grudges he seems to hold well...don't be surprised if people see through this shit for what it is.

Ofcourse people can comment on it, just as people can question what the issue is. I have never stated that people shouldn´t comment on it. And what does not accepting an apology have to do with being an adult? She specifically wrote that "On reflection, in the spirit of Holy Week, I apologize for any upset or hurt my tweet caused him or any of the brave victims of Parkland." - So she wouldn´t have apologized if it wasn´t some holy week? If it´s obvious to David Hogg that she wasn´t being senscere in her apology, why should he accept it?

And this person is being made as a prop from both the right and the left - that is sadly part of the political discourse. And I would always expect more from the president of the US then from a mass shooting victim that is being attacked as part of a political game. What Laura Ingraham should have done was to debate the issue, not talk about David Hogg being a "whiner". She only lost advertisers because she was petty and attacked a victim in a petty way. People can beas upset as they want with him, but it wasn´t he who shut her up, it was the advertisers.

So no one is allowed to criticize them? Point out when they are wrong or retort their political activism because they are teens. Will this change the day he turns 18? Hmm. No wonder the left leaning media are using them, they are the perfect weapon for pushing the agenda of the day and a shield when people try to debate that agenda. If these kids want to be free of criticism and/or any hurtful comments then they need to get of the stage. If Hogg can't take a simple jab at his ego without acting like a child then he can not ask to be treated like an adult when discussing policy that effect peoples lives and then revert to the "I'm only 17" retort every time someone says something negative. They can't have it both ways here and in Stalones defense I'm sure many people do want to punch him in the face, he's an obvious narcassist and does give off a spoiled, power tripping vibe that is very obnoxious.

Oh my God can you read?

You can criticize them for their arguments and the points they are making. Laura Ingraham obviously disagrees with him for his stance on gun regulation so attacking his response to not getting into college to further her agenda (demeaning the kid and therefore his argument) is out of the scope of the debate. It is a cheap shot. His response was effective and did not call for any violence whatsoever.

In a thread where you the OP asks if David Hogg is a bully you come to the defense of Frank Stallone who is advocating for violence against the kid. The cognitive dissonance is off the charts. Do you have any self awareness at all? At what point in Stallone's tweet does he go after Hogg's argument instead of him personally. It does not really matter that Hogg is 17, advocating violence against anyone because you do not like there argument means you are in the wrong and you cannot articulate a good counterargument.

Where? I havent seen any.

You have made several posts extolling the virtues of the "good old days" when poor people could be mistreated by those in power. Seems pretty mean spirited to me.

Just checked the definition of mean spirited just to be sure and:

"mean-spir·it·ed
ˌmēnˈspirədəd/
adjective
adjective: mean-spirited; adjective: meanspirited
  1. inconsiderate and unsympathetic."
  2. Inconsiderate and unsympathetic is almost exactly the words I would use for the viewpoints you have put forth in this thread.

That's not a fair characterization. I'm trying to shine light on the unfairness that those rich and in positions of authority have been subjected to in recent years. I'm showing sympathy towards them, because they have been the ones persecuted by a pitchfork mob.

I've grown to understand that there are a lot of plain mean spirited people around here. No wonder people don't like Labo. It would warm your hearts too much.

this was a very mean spirited thing to say about your peers here

the thing is that their argument is essentially that people in a society aren't safe at all times, therefore, we need to strip away the rights of people until we achieve that as a goal

the problem is that its never going to happen and here's an example from china a state with strict gun control

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/33-dead-130-injured-china-knife-wielding-spree-n41966

the solution is to accept that to live in a free society exposes everyone to some degree of risk or accept slavery in return for security

i think people are reacting harshly because on a subliminal level at least they realise what is at stake

you also have to remember that in the case of frank stallone, he's a big masculine man and he grew up in a more traditional era where men where expected to be strong and assertive

so i'm not surprised that he's so combative

Ever since Trump won, the rightwingers has turned into a bunch of babies, why?

Conservatives were constantly shouting Benghazi, irs scandals and whatever conspiracy your guys could cook up.

Soon as 1 leftie defend himself the rightwingers starts crying, please stop it.

Totally agree but its kinda refreshing since most of the snowflakes used to be on the left but now most them are on the right.
