Anyways someone should necrobump this page in 2020-2021, a year or so after the effects of Brexit actually come into play. Then we ll know if it was a smart move or not to leave the EU. Worst comes to worst, the britains can always come back and say "we re sorry, we missed being part of eu, it isnt going well for us, can you let us back in?" and they ll probably just be welcomed back in. |
If Jeremy Corbyn gets in I'll be the first to beg forgiveness and pledge fealty to Mutti Merkel.

When the Brexit happens the consequences for the British economy will be catastrophic, especially for the middle class and lower class.
Some very naive british politicians thought they can get rid of EU but keep the benefits. It is now clear that the EU will not make any concession to them. On the contrary britain must pay billions to the EU breach of contract (mostly money britain got from the EU anyway).
The british politicians are clearly in panic mode now, because even the dumber ones among them realize now how shortsighted the whole "brexit" thing was.
The amount of misinformation in this thread is disgusting. For fucks sake people Brexit hasn’t even happened yet

IMO - it’s a long term negative. E.g. my friend used to work at a US company European HQ in London. He doesn’t any more... Also, the EU never stopped The UK selling to Asia, so why is that used as “the future”? |
Seriously i hate how some people paint such generalized assumptions. Maybe some economists or liberals had a doom-and-gloom forecast, but the majority literally their predictions as, well, predictions. Never saw why Brexit had to be such an agenda-ridden topic when it should be fear form any political biases
THe biggest problem for Britain is taht it's economy has moved so much to financial services. Something that's not included in any free trade agreement the EU has right now. If major parts of stock market and banks would move that would hit the economy in the UK quite hard, i think.
Industry on the other hand seems pretty dead, and that wasn't the EU's fault.
I really hope for the Brits that companies like Toyota don't move to continental Europe completely. Might happen though sooner or later.
NHS already seems to take massive hits with health personnel from other EU countries lleaving. Please correct me if i'm wrong.
In any case, the Brexit won't be easy. Not even for the EU. But it might be way tougher for British people, mainly the average guy.

Britexit was supposed to send the UK into a irreversible depression and Trump was supposed to be the apocalypse. Neither happened and as we're learning, the reality of both are the exact opposite. |
Breitling hasn't happened yet and the UK are already suffering terribly. You shouldn't trust an article just because someone posted it. And Trump has been a catastrophy, just look at the economic growth in the US and the confidence people have for the future.
The EU has threatened sanctions if Britain undermines its economy by slashing taxes after Brexit https://t.co/HSylPh7igY

And the only way to stop said warming is by taxing and regulating people and businesses like never before, while forcing them to pay more for government-backed "green" energy alternatives than what they are currently paying to power and heat their homes.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
