Yeah, so not on the Wii U. And I don't know what's wrong with ports, the best-selling game of the 7th generation is a PS360 port.

Some of us actually like to play new games rather than reheated leftovers.

And some of us like to play games they never could play before on other platforms. And it's not like ports prevent new games to be released. Most of the ports we had on the Switch are ports that were released in the same time on the other consoles, I don't see the problem, if third party companies wants to released their remastered versions on another platform, that's pretty cool and not a bad thing.

Skyrim Remastered was released on the Switch as it was released on the PS4/Xbox One
L.A. Noire was released on 3 platform in the same day
Payday 2 Remastered was also released on 3 platform

And so will be Dark Souls.

I was more upset when I saw the AC Rogue One Remastered ad with no mention of a Switch version.

If third party support comes with ports then new games, I'm ok with it. And that's what Bethesda is doing. Doom wasn't a PS360 port, and neither Wolfenstein II will.

I'm not interested in any of the ports.....

Then I saw BOTW costumes....

It's a problem when a platform only has two significant new games in the first six months of the year, the rest all being recycled games or other low tier content.

It seems like the Switch has become the platform of choice for not so old ports, a lot of them Wii U ports and shovel ware. Today in my Facebook feed I got blasted with announcements from Nintendo about Hyrule Warriors and DK Tropical Freeze not to mention the plethora of Wii U ports coming to the Switch. In addition to this, have you guys checked out the eshop lately? It is infested with shovel ware. I think this is not a good path for the Switch but, whatever, people seem to like to buy the same games over and over and over and over...

How do you know that people are buying it for the 2nd or 3rd time? Maybe these are all users.

Just saying only less than 14million people bought the Wii U.

As a previous Wii U owner, I don't see any reason to buy a Switch right now unless you like full-priced ports of games not even released 2-3 years ago. Especially not with its current price tag (without a game included!). It's underpowered, only offers 2 or 3 worthy original games and we have yet to see footage of Metroid, Shin Megami Tensei, Pikmin and other big games without a release date. Also third-party software are more expensive while being released years later and downgraded.

These are my exact thoughts every time I see the sales numbers. I have no idea why it's selling so damn much, especially at its European prices.

That's was the same with the PS4 and Xbox One as well. It's not because Nintendo released its console 4 years after Sony and Microsoft than we have to forget how terrible and port-based the two consoles' library were.

When I said a couple of weeks ago that I still can't find a game that would make me buy a PS4, people were upset, but it's true, 6th gen was the best gen in gaming history, and at least 30% of the 7th gen is based on 6th gen games. And as good Nintendo is, the Switch is no exception to that statement.

Kinda ridiculous we're going back and forth arguing why games from a console that's discontinued @ less than 14 million units in it's lifetime, are being ported to a new system with more units sold in less than a year.

Don't get me wrong, I am by no means giving PS4 and Xbone a free pass; like you, I actually still can't find sufficient reason to buy those systems.

But as a Switch owner, I want more than this; as things stand now, I'm now looking at potentially 6 months or more with nothing new to play, since Kirby is not my cup of tea.

Didn't Sony port every single relevant PS3 game to PS4? Isn't GTA V, a port, the best selling game of the entire 8th generation? That's just business. Mario Kart 8 sold a lot, so why not release other Wii U games? I'm glad because I want to play Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, but I will never buy a Wii U.

Expand your gaming horizon then. As I've already told you, there's plenty of good games coming out.

I'm probably going to get Celeste, Owlboy, Fe, Mario Tennis Aces (depending on reviews / content), Kirby: Star Allies and Dark Souls: Remastered (never played it before). Dragon Quest Builders also looks interesting, so I might buy that as well.

That's 6 games in 6 months and who knows what else will be announced. I'm hoping for a release date on Hollow Knight soon and the new Shovel Knight campaign.
