And some of us like to play games they never could play before on other platforms. And it's not like ports prevent new games to be released. Most of the ports we had on the Switch are ports that were released in the same time on the other consoles, I don't see the problem, if third party companies wants to released their remastered versions on another platform, that's pretty cool and not a bad thing.

Skyrim Remastered was released on the Switch as it was released on the PS4/Xbox One
L.A. Noire was released on 3 platform in the same day
Payday 2 Remastered was also released on 3 platform

And so will be Dark Souls.

I was more upset when I saw the AC Rogue One Remastered ad with no mention of a Switch version.

If third party support comes with ports then new games, I'm ok with it. And that's what Bethesda is doing. Doom wasn't a PS360 port, and neither Wolfenstein II will.

It's a problem when a platform only has two significant new games in the first six months of the year, the rest all being recycled games or other low tier content.

That's was the same with the PS4 and Xbox One as well. It's not because Nintendo released its console 4 years after Sony and Microsoft than we have to forget how terrible and port-based the two consoles' library were.

When I said a couple of weeks ago that I still can't find a game that would make me buy a PS4, people were upset, but it's true, 6th gen was the best gen in gaming history, and at least 30% of the 7th gen is based on 6th gen games. And as good Nintendo is, the Switch is no exception to that statement.
