Forums - Nintendo Discussion - USA Today Says Switch Has Sold 15 million units!?

That gap though...
iPhone- 233 million
second best Samsung galaxy at 33 million.lol

But yeah, this is obviously made up numbers we know PS4 has sold over 17 million in the first 11 months and should be well over 20 million with it's December sales.

It is just their own estimates. And they clearly underestimate PS4 as well because that should be there at like 20m.

Maybe they only include new/recent tech? PS4 and XB1 are quite old.

Pocky Lover Boy!

How about South Korea? I remember someone posting the sales of it in there. Maybe that played a bigger part than what we thought of?

It seems that the article is mostly focused on tech released this year.

That’s good, right? Lol

I don't think they would deceive shareholders by such a stretch, they would have changed the forecast by now if shipments were that high.

They last said, shipments for the FY would be at 14 million. So if 15 million have been shipped, that only leaves about 1 and a half million for Q1 calendar(Q4FY).

I think this publication is probably mistaken, wouldn't be the first time.

Seems a bit too good to be true, but if this indeed the case, then this is really good news

That's a poorly structured article. It does not specify "new tech" at any point and never clarifies if it's only counting product versions introduced in 2017 or not.

It seems like it's incorrect either way.

IMO the article is pretty clear (although the first paragraph is a little confusing)...and the thread title is misleading even with the question mark. Never did the article say anything about hard data of products being sold but just an analyst basing it on chart data of what he thinks will happen for the rest of 2017.

It specifically says multiple times that the analyst thinks these products “will sell“ as in for the rest of 2017 (until December 31st). If it actually did sell already then the analyst would have used something like “has sold” imo.

It’s not using any data but charts by the analyst who is probably basing it on sales trends so far for the year. Which could based on trends and what sales data he did have at the time could make the Switch sell 15mm the rest of 2017.

Please change name of the thread to "GBH believes Switch to have sold 15m units".
Its current name is misleading, its by no means a fact that its sold that much.

Its pretty much the oppersite imo, nintendo themselves just resently said 10m units sold.
This GBH analyst is smokeing some good weed :p

You seem personally offended.
