In fairness, this person wasn't talking worldwide, right?

Not sure which person you mean.  I saw it in a few places.   Is globally in Japan the new version of globally in the US? :)

Even after NPD leaks people were saying Switch would win BF week globally?

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

Switch is only dominating Japan, so yeah, I've seen a lot of people thinking that being top seller in Japan is something that Sony should be worried about. I'm not sure why myself.

That's a lot of consoles... would have been amazing if PS4 managed to break 1m in America lol, but still, those numbers are pretty crazy!

How did the consoles do last year?

If the PS4 wasn’t sold out online 3-4 days before Black Friday, we’d have a different result, but yes it’s crazy!

Last year the PS4 did 1,2m+

xbox did about 800k+

3ds did like 600k+ if I can remember correctly,

PS4 barely over 2:1 compared to Xbox One in Europe in BF week?

lol

PlatformWeekly (change)Total
PS4 1,257,370 (+82%) 48,697,847
XOne 880,430 (+230%) 25,460,579
3DS 672,335 (+107%) 62,155,391
PSV 48,777 (+39%) 14,735,565
WiiU 41,938 (+128%) 13,318,699
X360 35,135 (+345%) 85,670,178
PS3 19,700 (+109%) 86,709,714

Last year's Black Friday week.

Oooh boy. Those PSV and WiiU drop-offs are severe, but totally expected, especially as one has been officially discontinued. 3DS still kicking out nice numbers even though they've been almost halved.

R.I.P Ps360

Interesting to see that the XOne is up YoY, it could be the best year for Xbox with 10-11 million sold units per year, perhaps because of the XOneX...^^

XBO 2017 right now is around 400k more than it was last year. It will need to sell 2.7m more this year to be XBOs peak year. From Nov 26th- Dec 31st last year the XBO sold 2.5m so its possible that 2017 wil be its peak year but i dont think it will do 10-11m. I can see it selling 9M by the end of the year though. BTW 2015 was the peak year with around 8.6m units sold.

These results can't be correct.  I was told that the Switch would dominate sales for the remainder of the year.

By whom?

The Total for switch on the front page is wrong lol. Apart from that, great sales all round. Apparently Japan accounts for 25% of all switch sales as of yesterday which puts sales as of yesterday around 13.2 million worldwide also.
