Forums - Gaming Discussion - I think the Sega Genesis HD flash back is better than SNES classic.

Dude, no. The sound of the Genesis Flashback is fucked. It's poor emulation all around. Put it next to a real Genesis and that flashback system is nails on a chalkboard. The games run like shit.

No, it sounds great actually.  The initial reviewers had an inferior device that wasn't updated. Listen to the youtube review in the OP, he has the actual retail model unlike the early reviewers.

This youtuber also enjoyed it.

Granted, it isn't perfect (it's an emulator after all), but very fun and something I think should be checked out if you're curious.

Well, if I'm in the mood for a SEGA classic, I just play one of them of my two SEGA collections on Steam or on PSP/Vita:

I don't need an additional retro console for $/€100 for that to get nostalgic.

I gotta go with this.

Especially since you can get the entire collection for way less.

True, but I like the idea of buying some of these genesis cartridges over time. I'm interested in toe jam and earl. I heard it was a great game.

wow.... so we are having nostalgia infused retro console rehash wars now too......

why do you even care?

Pretty hostile response to someone giving an opinion.

I've recently received the Sega Genesis HD flashback and I have to be honest, this was a great mini console. I liked it more than the SNES classic. I've seen this review and it is the closes to my opinion.

I never played phantasy star 4, but just started and it's pretty good so far. Although, I need to stop and play the first three first.

Yes, play episodes 1-3 first (episode 3 is kind of the odd one out of the four but is still pretty decent). PS4 is one of the greatest RPGs I´ve ever played, with a great soundtrack :).

I have the Mega Drive Flashback (PAL version of the Genesis) and the sound is garbage.
The controllers are also extremely cheap and nasty. It's not limited to just review systems.

Mortal Kombat 3 is basically unplayable for me due to how it controls.

I also have the Atari Flashback and I can level the same complaints against it.

The SNES Classic is just a more refined, higher quality device than the rubbish AT Games pushes out like candy every year to make a quick buck on nostalgia.

Isn't it 21 games on Snes Mini opposed to 85 to Megadrive HD? Technically I could agree you here.

85 games? That's pretty good. I got a Mega Drive retro console 10 years ago which only had 6 games. :/

Please get real..... you call that hostile?

The dude could have just come and said he thinks the thingy is underated. Thats what i would consider just giving an opinion. No need to start the whole this is better than that nonsense.

Mind you, i don't have any of them so its not like i am here defending one or the other. Just feel starting off like that isn't necessary. You don't have to talk down something to  draw attention to something else.

Only 45 Genesis classics + 7 Master System games + 5 Game Gear games... and 28 fillers nobody gives a crap about:

Wow. I just watched a video for Fight Or Lose, which I had pictured as a Streets Of Rage knockoff, and what I got instead was....Fart.....Chess?

- "If you have the heart of a true winner, you can always get more pissed off than some other asshole."

For the amount of games it has, and wireless controllers....at the same price, I agree.

I just think that this should have at least one Streets of Rage game.

Personally, I would love to have both this and the SNES Mini.

The Mortal Kombat games stand out on the Flashback HD, but some other good classics are missing.
