Forums - General Discussion - "Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important."

Christianity is unfortunately of great importance, despite not being true.

The world been turning to shit as more people have turned away from Christianity and probably religion as a whole . The rise of feminism and it gets too far sometimes, transgenders, all this gender neutral bullshit being imposed on us slowly, same sex getting their way over straight people and they can now sue you for simply not giving in to their demands, more violence, addictions do drugs and pornography etc.. Once we lived in more civilized times where people cared more for each other, where people grew up with christian values, reflected on their lives more, respected their families and sat at the dinner table together.

Assuming you're talking about the cake maker who didn't want to make a cake for a gay wedding I'm curious how one differentiates between this and a restaurant that says "no blacks". I mean you can say gay people should just go to another baker but then why doesn't this apply to black people in the South before discrimination laws were put in place?

If this isn't what you were referring to by the bolded then nevermind.

If it may assume the existence of spiritual beings, then, yes, it is.

It doesn't challenge even the question about such things.

Atheism is the position people have that simply don't believe in a god or gods. That's it.

Someone who doesn't believe in Gods can still believe in ghosts or other stuff. Not that I think it's rational.

It´s not. The concept of the existence of spiritual beings, whatever name you gave to them,  is a religious concept.  If an atheist believes in the existence of ghosts or deities or anything like that, he´s not atheist at all.

You are confusing Atheists with Agnostics. Atheism is really the belief that there is no god, sInce his existence has neber been proved. There is literally nothing else that binds atheists. Agnostic people think that there might be something out there, but they don't think humans know what that is. So they merely assume or at least think the existence of spiritual beings is a posibbility. Atheist don't think that the existence of any spiritual being is possible. Thus simply believe that there is no god until his existence  is scientifically proven. Which has never been or will ever be proven.

No, I´m actually not. I know the difference, and I totally agree with you.  That´s why in my previous post I stated that if an atheist believes in the existence of spiritual beings, he´s not atheist at all. I just forgot to mention that it would be agnostic. Thanks for explaining it so flawlessly.

I was replying a post from someone else implying that atheists would accept/believe in  the existence of deities.... which is not accurate.

Please check the definition for atheism, arf. Does it say anything about spiritual beings like ghosts, demons and so on, arf? Please, look it up, arf. I am getting tired of repeating myself, arf. Atheists don't believe in deities, arf. This doesn't include ghosts and all the rest, arf. And no, ghosts are not exclusive to religious concept, arf. It also can be superstitional, arf.

Also, religion is not exclusive to gods, arf. There are atheistic religions out there, arf.

You are really confused on these terms, arf.
