The new SW movies are an attempt to appease feminists that is equivalent to letting your little sister win at something. Female leads that are ultra powerful and experience no meaningful struggles or failure.

It's competently shot, acted, and doesn't have Jar Jar or an Anakin "romance" main plot.

So it's automatically better than the prequels.

That said it's not of the quality of the OT, and likely nothing will be, and it will be a rude awakening for people who wanted a predictable, safe movie.

No. It was great. Kylo Ren is a great character now. I could only halfway give you the casino-plot, because that was in the end a bit pointless. Besides, I highly doubt Luke is actually 'dead', he'll be in Ep.9, you'll see.

I agree with the op. Personally, I'm done with star wars movies. Disney owns it and sjws are too involved in the films.

Here's my fav review/summary of the film that I've seen so far. 

I have a feeling Snoke will be in episode 9, as I still think he is Darth Plageius. If he is, then that would be he allowed both Palpatine and Kylo Ren to (seemingly) kill him, which would sort of make sense as he is raising the Sith ruler rather than being one himself. Also the suggestion is Plageius can cheat death so him returning would also fit. I get what Ep 8 was trying to do in saying not everything is coonected, but Snoke really does need some sort of backstory as otherwise is unclear how he was able to be supreme leader in the firts place and not a military leader like Hux.

Poor Luke. What have they done?
