Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Reggie: Switch sales are “unprecedented” for Nintendo

This level of sales on its first year outside holiday season is unprecedent for a Nintendo console no matter how much some here want to deny it.

Except we're all still discussing it, so no derailment here. The issue is it's not being discussed in a highly positive fashion, right?

That could be called a derailment to the original intent of the OP's thread. (Even this disscusion basically is).

We're not here to know if we should discuss this news with a positive or negative insight.

So now you're saying that you derailed the thread? Or are you saying that discussing the topic of the thread is derailment?

Unprecedented or not, I am just happy that the Switch is selling so well. Just 2 years ago people were insisting that the NX would sell less than the Wii U, and to have suggested that the Switch could see a 100 million user-base at the end of its lifetime would have been flame worthy back then.

One of the favorite buzzwords of the industry. Along with Exclusive and Diverse.lol

Another thread that will derailed from it's original intent ... GREAT !

The one derailing was him saying others are derailing, and then defending his point with both being off-topic.

So you understand that any comment that isn't praising Nintendo is negative? And also no one can make fun of a top brass on a company beating the poor language?

How so?

That is what PR does when using the language in a way that even though is technically right, picks up words that have a general meaning and use and spin and torture then to make a claim more grandious than it really is by some deception.

As people put, Nintendo had consoles sell more than 10M in 9 months before, other manufacturers also done it, probably some also done it before first holiday, the holiday release was almost irrelevant for Wii and PS4 reaching the mark. But when constructed as unprecedent (which means without precedent, and that isn't something that is narrow minded, it's something on more broad levels), for Nintendo and for console reaching before first holiday (which actually isn't even true because it needed November for it right?). So he put a lot of limits to make the unprecedent "gramatically right" but by empyting its meaning at the same time that people that aren't very attentive of the others sales and historic would just summarize the phrase to "Switch speed of sales are unprecedent"

People shitting about what Reggie said without even understanding what he said to beging with, typical level of gaming forums. He said this is an unprecedent level of sales for a console that still didn't had any holiday season, which is totally right. But keep trying to find something to shit about in every single positive nintendo news.

Anytime something does well it becomes a target of hatred. It's strange but it's how it's always been and always will be. It's a compliment.

What is crazy is that Bitcoin, Litecoin and most US assets have skyrocketed in the last month and Nintendo is down. I know investing is a long term game, but this has to be maddening to Nintendo shareholders and executives.

A friend of mine had 1200 bitcoins that he sold for $30,000 previously. He now says it was the biggest mistake of his life.

The thing is, investing should be long term, but most of these ups and downs are speculation for short term gain.
