Docked:

Resolution: something around 1088x612, in some scenes the resolutions jump a bit.

Excellent Temporal anti-aliasing, only in this case the resolution is so low that the TAA ultimately results in a very blurry looking game.

Excellent Motion Blur (you can disable)

You have the option to able/disable Chromatic aberration

Fov locked in 90

Switch Version sits below the Pc lowest presets (but still looks good)

lights at distance and screen space reflections are absent

Ambient Occlusion significantly reduced

Loading Time faster than PS4, but slowly than X1X

Framerate:

30 fps (with some drops, mainly with many enemies on the screen)

bad frame pacing

Undocked:

600p resolution on TV in 2017!?
Damn this definitely is not good port if we talk about docked mode, on other hand it looks quite nice for playing in portable mode.

The massive framerate drops during intense battles is a deal breaker, that's precisely what doom 2016 was about and you spend nost of the game fighting multiple enemies at once, too.

TL;DW:
- Uses an adaptive resolution, typically hovers around 600p in docked mode.
- Textures are below the minimum on PC.
- Some very aggressive AA. Up side is less jaggies than you'd expect for the resolution, down side is it adds further blur to the image.
- Various things have either be turned off (e.g. screen space reflections), or toned down (e.g. AO, lighting range).
- There are frame pacing issues, but this could potentially be patches.
- Runs at around 20 - 30fps.
- Running the game on a lower difficulty improves the frame-rate as there are less enemies.
- Slightly faster loading times than on a PS4, a lot slower than the X1X.

Seems respectable to me

I LOVE ICELAND!

Are they using the DOCK's power boost appropriately or ?

Seems like you should only get this if you want Doom on the go or you don't have any other way of playing it.

DF actually seem to think it's a very impressive port, but there's a limit to how much you can accomplish on the Switch with a title that was originally built for higher spec hardware. If Doom was a Switch only title it'd likley look and run better, but it'd also have been designed very differently. The big fire fights in particular seem to be a problem.

All in all i think the final result is about what many were expecting: It's a pretty shit 2017 home console title, but a technically exceptional portable one. I think most Switch owners interested in Doom will be okay with that.

Ah, good catch! I've added the X.
