It's probably more to do with how he said it. What I get from this is that she was upset because he didn't even remember the soldiers name. However if she is upset about someone saying I'm sure your son has no Regrets as hew knew what he was doing and did it for his country then she is just being closed minded and venting. I will concede that it was probably not his intention in this situation to disrespect. However, I do think he owes it to her to at least acknowledge his mistake. I would respect him more if he would own up to mistakes he makes.
