Forums - General - McDonald's Szechuan sauce fever hits a boiling point with Rick and Morty fans

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer’s head. There’s also Rick’s nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they’re not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick & Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick’s existential catchphrase “Wubba Lubba Dub Dub,” which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev’s Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon’s genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them.

And yes, by the way, i DO have a Rick & Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It’s for the ladies’ eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they’re within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand

You must be right with your assumptions. I feel my IQ just dropped 5 points just by reading this post.

You definitely wouldn't understand the show then pal

To think there are people out there dealing with things like stress, depression, poverty, famine...

...and then there's shit like this. :|

You can effectively post the first line of this against any thread on VGchartz and it would be hard to argue the importance of things like a game being 30fps or 720p against it, doesn't mean it has any relevance to the subject though. It's just a nice line which should be followed by a request for a small monthly payment to help ease their suffering, not attempt to make someone feel bad for liking a TV show.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

Well, this seems like a perfectly reasonable and level-headed thing to do over a sauce. I like the series, but I really don't get people who take their fandom of something this far, especially over something as pointless as this.

I didn't really listen when for weeks my friends told R&M out there.

I didn't really take it into consideration when Dan Harmon himself disparaged his toxic fans.

I even ignored it when the whole sauce craze

But this video right here convinced me. If your fan base can produce just one of... that then yeah it's objectively the worst.

It's always a shame to get a great show but terrible fanbase.

So, wouldn't it make sense for McDonald's to make it not limited anymore? It seems like they'd make quite a bit of money off of it.

Not anymore, thanks to you.

After reading the first two sentences I was about to write apost about how you are basically a fucking idiot... and then I got the joke.

I guess that makes me the idiot.

Had no idea this show had that much influence on people. The creators need to use this power for good, make an episode about them throwing Trump out of office! :L
