Forums - General - How do you de-stress or cheer yourself up?

Personally, I either play games, read some manga, watch some videos, or just lay down in a bed. Sometimes I feel a good night's rest makes me feel so refreshed and ready to go in the morning Oh wait, I forgot drawing too. I do that so often, it's kinda second nature for me, haha...

No surprises there then, lol. Do you read different genres based on your current mood?

Actually, I often pick up manga based on the cover, whether it looks cool, cute, or looks like a horror story. I also read the summary as well, checking to see if it catches my attention, and I check the genres as well. And... anything that remotely looks like horror, I give it a shot, since I really like that for some reason.. xD But yeah... how I pick up new stories kinda happens at random...

Ah yeah, I know you're into your horror manga lol... I'm still reading Tokyo Ghoul and looking for others to move onto, but I'll save that for the manga thread ;)

Yeah, I'll need to check that one out as well some time.

DH/MX riding out in the national park.

If I can't be arsed doing that... It's going getting shit faced with mates.

Depends on the magnitude of the situation, on the state of depression and its stage. I usually go in this order: weed, nitrous, cocaine, ecstasy, mushroom and molly.

Dance your ass off even if you don't know how to dance. Put on some dance/house/electro pop, etc. Or listen to Ukrainian folk music, Chopin's many etudes. Just immerse yourself and dance.

So you have a crappy attitude and a serious mental/emotional health issue, which in turn has brought up more issues such as lack of sleep and (again) a crappy attitude.

What you need to do is seek professional help, seek therapy and other medications. If would share with you what I do reduce stress, but it won't work because you won't take any advice. If your answer to "cheer up" is "no shit", you'll probably answer to "listen to dance/Electro pop/house/mainstream pop music and dance your ass off" with "I'm depressed and don't feel like listening to garbage music".

Seek help.

Did I miss something? I'm just skimming through these comments but it seems like OP is taking advice and being nice.

I don't know man, I'm myself dealing with nasty depression.

I have been taking Xanax and some other meds for 17 days now, but I'm not getting any better yet.

Nothing seems to bring me joy, I mostly lay in the bed all day and overthink everything.

Xanax is not going to help you with depression.  In fact, it may be contributing to the "lay(ing) in bed all day", if you're taking it regularly.

I think these are pretty good hobbies.  I prefer to get shitfaced at home, while gaming.  But, yeah, some physical activity, and some drugs (in moderation, and without any driving, of course), are generally pretty good ideas.
