pretty bad rankings IMO and they seem heavily biased by recent games when looking at the top 10. I am not sure, for example, how objectively Breath of the Wild would bt put over the OG Zelda or Ocarina of Time. Whether we're comparing critic reviews, affect on the industry, groundbreaking-ness *?), etc.

Some very odd top 20 choices.

I guess in the end one must wonder how you can rate Metroid Prime under the likes of Destiny, Fire Emblem, etc.... it's just strange... what's the criteria here?

 

I mean for gods sake, I love SUper Monkey Ball, huge fan of the series, but you'd have to be out of your mind to put a Super Monkey Ball game in the top 100 games of all time.

Seems they're big fans of puzzle games, average FPS games, and generally some of the weaker entires into series.

7. Tetris - Highly deserving, but it's weird how this is the only classic on here, and it's not even the best, biggest, or most important from its era.
6. Half-Life 2 - Yes, even though I'm not an FPS person, I recognize this one's cultural impact.
5. Bloodborne - Nope.
4. The Last of Us - Nope.
3. Grand Theft Auto V - I suppose this is deserving.

In short, these guys don't respect games as art, and I can't see what kind of criteria they're using to score games on this list. It seems very haphazard.

If I'm not mistaken, the criteria they used was "not your taste". Not sure though.

looking at the list I don't think any sane person or committee could have come up with it. I don't think it is really anyones taste, what I suspect they have done is had a whip around the office to ask everyone what are your favourite 20 games in order and then used that to create this list, no other way I can see such strange entries, especially so many modern/current games that while they are ok should not even be in the list but could easily be on an individuals list of favourite games when they haven't really played that many.

that list is terrible, they've picked the games on their personaly preferences it seems and not taken into account what that game did for the industry.

I mean Mass Effect 2 for example, I think we all probably enjoyed Mass Effect 2 more but Mass Effect was the first of it's type at the time in terms on tight storyline and played like an interactive space epic movie with the ending and its plot twist just blowing me away at the time. for that reason alone if one mass effect game was to be mentioned fr me personally it Would be this one.

No Chrono Trigger, only one Final Fantasy and it's XII, No Dragon Quest, no Age of Empires, no Nier: Automata.

Irrelevant mediocre games like The Witness, Kerbal Space program and other indie games.

I mean Rez infinite? What a joke.

 

Also one of the worst Fire Emblem games over others in the series...
