Forums - Gaming - Nintendo has crossed the line that even EA, Capcom, and Activision hasn't!

1. Yes, it sucks that content is locked behind an Amiibo. Frankly, I feel the same way about any DLC. The Amiibo just makes it worse since they are all $13, and limited supply.

2. This game already has a built-in hard mode. This is just a different hard mode. It is not worth getting that upset over. If you don't like it, the best thing to do is vote with your wallet and don't ever buy Amiibo.

Where were you when they announced the Breath of the Wild DLC packs? That line was crossed long before this.

What's wrong with them?

The Breath of the Wild story DLC is fine because it's comprised of extra assets developed after BoTW went gold in February, but they really shouldn't have locked hard mode behind DLC. Whenever they pull that nonsense, it just reeks of corporate greed. Back in the 90's or early 00's, hard modes used to be fully unlockable when you beat the game or entered a cheat code.

Master Mode not being part of the game and being put in Pack 1. That's really it.

I've (tried) playing through the original Metroid and Zero Mission in Hard before, it wasn't fun. I don't support locking some content behind paywall (and Amiibos are too expensive already), but Samus Returns already has a hard mode. Fusion Mode is a skin + harder mode, which I personally don't really care about.
In fact, I would say the artwork and music player are a bigger problem. That's more interesting, and costs them less to put in the game.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

It's not like they're cheap as well. That is some bullshit.

I don't agree that they are worse than those other companies but DLC, in all it's forms, can suck a dick. It was better when DLC was on disc/cart and could be unlocked.

Now what is a grown man going to do with this toy? Am I supposed to run around with it and say "pow" "pow"?

What are grown men doing playing video games? Don't delude yourself, they're all childish pastimes.

I feel like this image encapsulates why people are fundamentally worried about on-disc, gameplay DLC:

Basically, it's a slippery slope that has a huge potential of getting much worse over time if consumers let corporations get away with it.

Why couldn't we live in a world where all DLC was just expansion packs of extra story and content whilst the game releases full.

Ie TLOU And then Left behind.

Really? Didn't know that, that sucks...
