seems low, i thought it was meant to outsell the PS4 this year

Its not low in any case, especially with fact that Switch still is heavily supply constrained.

Not really Sony's fault Nintendo can't produce nearly enough Switches to keep up with demand. With this rate of production Switch will be supply constrained till march or even mid 2018. Compared to the PS4 the console it is supposed to beat sales are way to low. And that is mostly Nintendo is own fault the difference between potential sales and actual sales is pretty big I bet the Switch could be at 7 million already without supply constraints buy it is at 5.5 at best today.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Remember how people were worried that Nintendo only having at launch would negatively effect the sales of the Switch?

1.96M shipped in 3 months.

What is the point of your post?

Are you mad he rounded it up to 2 million?

I think it was due to 'sold' instead of shipped, but with the sell through rate of Switch shipments being so high, I doubt it makes much of a difference.

If they're able to produce enough consoles, I think it's certainly possible. Mario Odyssey would certainly make for a great Christmas gift along with a Switch. It could almost be like that Nintendo 64 kid

If they can produce enough, they will hit their numbers with ease. That's looking like a larger IF than I would like right now. We'll see what weekly baseline returns to next week. I have a bad feeling that the Splatoon 2 "surge" was simply Nintendo holding back units.

Color me surprised if they ship more than 50k in Japan next week. We might even be back to the low 20s we saw following Arms' release.

What Switch sales have anything with Sony!?

Remember how a system that was derided for having only ports of Wii U games launched two new miillion-seller IPs?

Remember when 3-6 hour battery life was sure to be the death-knell?

Remember left-joycon gate?

Remember how difficult (we were told) it was to simply dock the Switch without scratching the screen?

Remember when some youtuber broke his Switch so he could clickbait his way to a million views?

You guys will have to forgive me. I fell out of video games during the Wii/DS era so I missed out on my opportunity to do this the last time.

For quarters after launch and before the end of life it isn't that important, because not all consoles shipped that quarter will be sold, but consoles shipped the month before but weren't sold will be sold that quarter instead. So sold might be higher, lower, the same - not really relevant.

Was it? Who said that?

lots of people said it would happen in the thread discussing what console would sell more this year, and quite a few suggested thinking otherwise was stupidity
