You're biggest problem is that you're assuming that the Nintendo Switch would be sold out like it is if Nintendo decided to sell it at $399 instead of $299.
The Xbox One X will sell well because regardless of what is said on forums and in fanboy echo chambers, gamers care about power. The Xbox One X is powerful and gamers will flock to it because it will be THE console for the best looking third party games.
The reason the switch is doing well is because its offering something a little different and unique, its basically a console that is also a handheld.
XBX has nothing really except 4K, best graphics, and we know that in the past that hasn't mattered as much as the price. In fact I think seeing how the pro has sold, steady but not amazing, really shows that its unlikely that the XBX will do that well, doesn't help that it doesn't offer anything massive in terms of new games. I just don't see it doing that well.

Didn't say it could be, just listing specs.
Though hopefully devs can optimise their engines to use the extra power, wherever possible.
Also worth noting (though you likely know) that Vega FE has 26.2 FP16 TFLOPS.
Doesn't mean it is a viable card for gaming.

I don't know where you got your information, but Switch is the first Nintendo system to reach a teraflops. In comparison, the PS4 has 1.8 teraflops. |
From Eurogamer, Digital foundry
| Available CPU Speeds | Available GPU Speeds | Available Memory Controller Speeds | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Undocked | 1020MHz | 307.2MHz | 1331/1600MHz |
| Docked | 1020MHz | 307.2/768MHz | 1331/1600MHz |
Actually this reddit shows the Switch to run a bit faster
https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/comments/6bwmos/nintendo_switch_soc_compute_power/
The clock speeds are known to be 768-921 MHz in docked mode and 307.2-384 MHz in portable mode, base/boost clock speeds. TX1's performance is well-known, so with those clock speeds, that puts Switch's compute power at 393-471 / 157-196 GFLOPs base/boost docked/undocked.
Still under half a teraflop.
Where do you have your information from?
Edit: I see Permalite already explained it, nvm!
Anyway if it actually had a teraflop of fp32, then I really would not understand the lack of split-screen in Splatoon 2.
A couple of things.
1. The bulk of Switch sales are not coming from people paying $400 to some scalper online. The Switch is tough to find, it's not THAT tough to find.
2. You're basically suggesting MS do a complete about face on their strategy regarding exclusives. Which isn't going to happen, and even if they wanted to, it would take them years to put together a lineup of games that would entice gamers to buy their hardware again.
Bet with Adamblaziken:
I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

It does make comparing FP16 superfluous though.
You don't want me to get started on Vega... Hahaha

Whilst I agree with all your points... I don't agree with this one.
The Xbox One X has more power than the Playstation 4 and the Playstation 4 pro, thus if Power and Graphics is your primary concern, then there is simply no better console than the Xbox One X. It will hit higher resolutions and framerates more often than the Playstation 4 Pro.
The only thing that beats the Xbox One X is the PC. Otherwise for the extremely rare Xbox-only exclusive, Multiplats and Backwards compatability, the Xbox One X will be the best place to play those games thanks to it's power advantage.
Which is ultimately the point of that console to begin with. It's a Halo Product.
For example... nVidia doesn't release the nVidia Titan every year because it shifts millions of graphics cards, it releases it to keep it on top of the performance stack, it makes the brand look more attractive overall.

Third parties don't matter to Switch buyers though :p |
People will laugh at that but it's the truth. And it's okay because Swith is finding its own footing and PS4/Xbone/PC are already taking up 3rd party exposure. Japanese 3rd party games and Nintendo 1st party software will sell the switch, it has been that way for a while with Nintendo's hardware which is why I'm surprised people don't see this.

Didnt Halo 5 and UC4 sit on rougly the same amount of sales at 4m until Sony heavily bundled the crap out of the game on just about every bundle available for the Xmas period. While Halo 5 being one of the least favorite in the franchise still manage to sell 5m to date. That to me says enough. |
Wait I thought UC4 sold faster and better even before that? Like it was at almost 9 million as of December but all of that did not come from bundles because there was a break down that showed the sales. Or am I mistaken? And to be fair the person you quoted said more popular than Sony and Nintendo combined and you said yeah it is called Halo which was false. Though I do agree Halo while not as big as it was before is still very popular. Selling 5million is NOTHING to scoff at.
The absence of evidence is NOT the evidence of absence...
