All of this before Pokemon and Animal Crossing arrive, Fire Emblem is on the way as well.

Oh wow! Half earlier than the Wii U! And that one released in the holidays. 

And the Switch was in a Stock issue phase. It might have beaten the 3DS if it wasnt for that.

History rewriting? No, WiiU didn't. It had a good launch, but Switch is past that phase and at this time WiiU had ~30K worldwide (!), while Switch has five times as much. Switch does nearly these numbers in Japan alone. Look at this thread to see Switch is outselling everything from past (this?) gen except PS4 with launches aligned. WiiU is far behind.

Yeah we're well passed the point of "but Wii U had a good launch too" by now.

Switch has been out for 4 months; when the Wii U was 4 months old it was selling like raincoats in the Sahara.

What's especially crazy is that, despite shortages, Switch was able to sell a quarter of PS4's first three years of sales, in just four months.

The Switch will be compared to Wii U's launch for at least 1 more year. Then it'll be like the Wii and its sales won't count cause reasons.

I still believe the PS4 is selling on hype and that its sales are front loaded.

I think so too, though to be fair the value of the system is getting better
