Y'know, it's funny: After the nightmare that was the Nintendo Directs of 2025, and with how peaceful discourse has been ever since they stopping doing them, I can't say I'm going into this Direct all too jubiliantly. But if this is what you guys want... brace for impact. I don't think Nintendo's gonna show a lot, and that's going to leave a lot of you very displeased. Nintendo's almost certainly going to hold any 2027 reveals for after the price hike is put into place; hence I expect no more than what has been rumored as well as a few little small things. All for 2026. Maybe one game for 2027 if lucky.

If anybody is looking for some “soft confirmation” that a Direct is coming this week, Nintendo always has maintenance done the week of a Direct. Seems like (as expected) Nate was right again.

That said, maybe to lift spirits from my previous post: Let’s see that Pikmin 4 NS2 Edition! Ooh that is a big one for me… I’m keeping my eyes shut when it comes to the OoT remake. Don’t want anything spoiled until that game is literally in the palm of my hands.

Even before the Direct, the last few days have announced a bunch of Switch 2 games I want; Spyro Real Beyond, Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis, Resident Evil Veronica, Trine 6...

Here's hoping Nintendo cap it all off this week with some cherries on top.

Heck, even the ol' Switch 1 got a few announcements here and there, like Trine 6 and Marsupilami 2.

Still a few games I wanna grab for it as well like Eternal Life of Goldman and Sin Reloaded. Not bad for a system in its 10th year. Wonder if the rumoured Direct will have anything for it; maybe those long rumoured ports of Yoshi's Woolly World and Kirby Planet Robobot.

Nate confirmed Kirby won’t be there. Perhaps Yoshi? Though Yoshi just got a new 2D game. And seeing as Nintendo is actively trying to dissuade consumers from entering into the NS1 ecosystem via price hikes, I’d be surprised if they reveal anything for Switch 1.

Edit: Welp, seems my NS1 theory was instantly debunked lol! Direct is coming tomorrow!! Whoop!

Bold prediction: Xenoblade 4 reveal is dropping tomorrow. With the JP price hike in effect, I’m thinking they’ll want to be pushing hard toward JP consumers to regain sales momentum post price hike.

It’ll be a Spring 2027 launch.

Hopefully Switch 2 stays more affordable than it's competitors. If not, time to beat up AI CEOs for hogging all the RAM and memory parts, which is what drove up prices for RAM and memory hardware.

So much hype for the Direct. As always, I have too many things I would like to see. I hope at least a few of them become a reality ^^

Btw, I've been completely consumed by DK64. I had the game when I was a kid, but never got past Gloomy Galleon. Now I just beat that level with every Golden Banana.

While I'm having a blast, I got to admit some of the criticism the game has gotten over the years: the collectibles are too disperse. This happened to me yesterday and it illustrates the problem perfectly:

So... here I was with Donkey Kong... and unable to do a damn thing in this little area. We got a blueprint for Diddy, a balloon for Tiny and an instrument panel for Chunky. All of it in like 5m². Holy fucking shit xD
