Prime 5 rumoured to be in development among Retro's hiring.

Not too surprising considering they were obviously building on a new saga with Prime 4, but it's welcome news to anyone not willing to wait 18 years for another one lol.

Also great way to flex the Switch 2 muscles this time around without the limitation of the Switch. 

I’m very curious about a potential Metroid Prime 5, in part because I always want more Metroid but also because I need some hard evidence if Retro still has the talent to deliver a great game.

The charitable interpretation of Prime 4 (and the one I’m inclined to believe) is that Bandai Namco established a faulty foundation that Retro was unable to change. But I’m not entirely sure. Excluding ports and remasters, the studio hasn’t made a great game in 12 years. It’s very difficult to maintain high standards over such a long period of time.

I hope it improves upon Prime 4, and is much scarier too. The Grievers are pretty terrifying, but not as bad as Dark Samus or Ridley.

Yeah this is actually a big part of why I avoided Rebirth back in 2024. Seeing the HLTB time, I had no interest in sinking over 100hr into a franchise I know next to nothing about. I’m hoping to get around to it prior to Revelations, though unsure when.

Still no confirmation on whether or not we're getting a Direct this coming week.
