Yeah $80 sounds steep on paper but considering the price of the DLC it's not as bad as it seems at first blush.

IIRC isn't it also $80 for the game + DLC on PS and Xbox?

Not sure if you’re referencing a bundle, but I do know that the cost for each product individual MSRP is $60USD (base game) + $40USD (SotE).

Folks over on Famiboards were saying there's a $80 bundle on other consoles, but if it's $120 elsewhere than $80 is actually a bit of a steal, weird as that sounds.

Technically yeah, $80USD would be well below MSRP lol though the game is also always on deep sale. I’d imagine we’ll be looking at $50-60USD for Elden Ring (NS2) within a year of launch, which I’d say is quite a solid deal if you ask me.

Not gonna say any more than this:

Plus, this isn’t a first-party Nintendo release. It will 99% receive price cuts. That said, I’ll be waiting on a sale… and if it can handle 60fps. No 60fps = I’m sticking with my Steam copy.

I was worried it was going to be a GKC... Oh well, my PS4 copy will have to do then.

Yeah $80 for double pack on all other platforms and it's never been on sale since it launched almost 2 years ago now, You could of bought the base game on sale for $36 +$40 for the expansion and save $4 over the Switch launch price but it's price is in line with other platforms which seems reasonable.

With the pre-order going up it's likely not to far away from release which is cool.

I don't think comparisons to solo purchase + DLC makes sense primarily because you don't have to buy the DLC. It does give context to value proposition but for those who want everything but  forcing a $80 entry point for a 4 year old game is just bad practice and probably/hopefully will not translate well sales wise...

Rhythm Heaven releases 7-2 at $40USD (physical(!))!! Finally!

(IDK about you guys, but I’m really starting to take a liking to Nintendo newest approach to game reveals: Instead of dropping every thing in a single presentation, they instead gives us something to wait for at the start of each month. It helps a lot in getting me to really focus and being open to individual games I otherwise would sweep aside.)

Also, new theory: Star Fox for early-to-mid June, Rhythm Heaven for early-July, Splatoon for late-July/early-August, and Fire Emblem for early-September.

I might get Rhythm Heaven just to show Nintendo that there IS demand for their more minor IPs.

Seems Miyazaki pushed for Duskbloods and he's leading development.

I might play it, but I have a feeling it's blood boiling difficult.

Idk if somebody can answer me on that, but what I found about Duskbloods is that it will be focused on online multiplayer, right?

Isn't the wording "focused" implies that will have a single player offline campaign mode of some sort, like Splatoon for example? Or am I tripping?
