Y’know it just hit me: This year is also the 20th anniversary for one of Nintendo’s most successful video games of all time— Wii Sports. I guess it checks out that there is supposedly a follow up to Switch Sports (which is itself a spiritual successor to Wii Sports) coming this year. It would definitely boost EU sales figures.

With Pokémon coming in 2027, Switch 2 Sports could be a big holiday title this year. Though there could be a couple holiday titles like the rumored Ocarina of Time Remake or maybe 3D Mario will already be out by the holiday.
Switch 2 Sports would be a good fallback. It mostly appeals to casual play and nongamers but would sell very well.
Lifetime Sales Predictions

Xbox Series X/S: 38 million (was 60 million, then 67 million, then 57 million. then 48 million. then 40 million)

Going into the tenth month of the S2 and tbh at this point the S2 has had the best launch year of any platform even more than the S1, the S2's first year has been better than some platforms best years.
S1:
BOTW, SMO, XBC2, Arms, Pokken, Fire Emblem Warriors, Skyrim AE, MK8D, Steam World Heist
S2:
MKW, DKB, CB2077, Hyrule Warriors:AOI, Metroid Prime 4, AC Shadows, Cronos, RE9, DQ7R, DQ1+2 HD2D, FFVIIR, Pokopia, Fatal Frame 2 Remake, Octopath 0, SF6, MH Stories 3, Fallout 4 AE, Silk Song, Hades 2, Bravely Default.
S1 will always be the conversation with a knockout trio of BOTW, SMO and XBC2 which are three of the greatest games released however S2 has fired back with with two gems of its own in DKB and Pokopia. The obvious contrast between both platform's launch year highlights how S1 mainly focused on Nintendo's super power of first party heavily due to the situation they were coming back from while the S2 shows signs of being geared and pushed more as a primary/main platform for its consumers with its well rounded offering rather than solely a vehicle for first party.

Who all is watching the Mario movie tomorrow? I know I am! I’ve avoided any and all trailers, presentations, and footage— I want that fully clean perspective going in.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is being projected to have a $350 million opening weekend.

Deadline also heard that The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is tracking slightly ahead of the original in the US for advance ticket sales.https://t.co/iH2zn2yFws. pic.twitter.com/oPI2vSD1Jg

I am, and hopefully it exceeds the projected opening weekend.
But after seeing it, let's make a promise.
