Oh man… I really hope nobody spoils what NateTheHate just revealed. NS2 H2 has two games that I’m reaaally excited for!! (One of which could probably be deduce from my pfp.)

Are leaks or rumors really considered spoilers? They’re unofficial and end up being wrong most of the time anyway.

I'd say so. You're spoiling the official reveal— just think if SSBUltimate had placeholder listings posted across all major retailers before the March 2018 Direct. Suddenly, it's no longer a big surprise, but an expectation, making the announcement a bit less impactful.

That said, regarding recent the NatetheHate news:
If that 2nd Half lineup ends up being true, then that in addition to what’s been already announced/released would make for a pretty damn good 2026 for Switch 2!

Certainly better than Switch 1’s 2018, which would have been truly abysmal if not for Pokemon LGPE and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Why are we skipping DMC 4? I want to play 4!

Different engine, DMC5 runs on the RE Engine which they already have optimised for S2 having recently released RE9 and about to release Pragmata so a port of DMC5 ironically will be more straightforward.

Oh, you mean the thing that I just got spoiled on as soon as I opened the front page?

Doesn't DMC4 use MT Framework which is what RE used before the RE Engine? RE 4, 5, 6, the Revelations games, are all on Switch 1!

Edit: most Capcom games on the Switch use MT Framework apparently https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MT_Framework

Switch 2 has a fully different architecture and set up to Switch which is why backwards compatibility is done via a full emulator that the S2 has installed.

Exactly! Lol

It worth noting that just because NTH has said something it doesn't mean it's factual as he's gotten a fair number of gaming predictions wrong he's good at predicting an ND but has been off at times with games, Starfox is the only one I find plausible mainly because rumours of a new game were around before S2's launch with the game said to be using mouse functionality. However the was uncertainty on whether this was a remaster of SF0 or a new instalment.

I find GTA6 launching day 1 more realistic than an OOT remake tbh as the Zelda team are likely working on the next title and someone pointed out something interesting that makes sense logically in that no first party holiday title may signal that GTA6 could be the holiday title much like RE9 was the major early year title although now upstaged by Pokopia but still.

Not true, the NS2 uses a hybrid of emulation and real hardware compatibility https://www.howtogeek.com/nintendo-switch-2-backward-compatibility-explained/

And if I recall correctly, the reason why full hardware compatibility wasn't an option has to do with shaders, not architecture.
