Yeah… that Xenoblade leak could’ve definitely benefitted from a Spoiler tag. Really any leaked art for an unreleased game should be spoiler tagged. But that looks insane!! Wow!!! I’m really hoping this is real.

Edit—Ah, it seems people aren’t convinced by he Xenoblade 4 leak. Not even finding it on ResetEra. Well, that’s refreshing at the very least.

I now want that to be true and hereby will be very disappointed and blame Nintendo for it if it doesn't happen.

I'm confused by the internet's reaction to this Partner Showcase...? Interestingly enough, this is my first time watching a Partner Showcase, and all-in-all, I walked away from it feeling quite pleased. What's up with everybody calling it "trash"? Obviously there wasn't going to be some major third-party reveal or anything. (Though even then we did get lots of updates such as Orbitals, Adventure of Elliot, FFVII Rebirth, Microsoft support on NS2, etc.).

Also: I'm predicting Final Fantasy VII: Part III will come out in the near future. Releasing FFVII Remake & Rebirth so close together on Switch 2 leads me to believe SquEnix is prepping for a new launch cycle for sometime in 2027.

For me it just had a lot of titles I didn't care for, very little from western publishers and it lacked new announcements. The three announcements that interested me were Valheim, Digimon and Oblivion, but they're all just old ports.

I'll get some of the games sure, but there wasn't anything that really excited me.

It's about knowing what to expect from Directs, Partner showcases are not the place for hype announcements, not even from partners, stuff like The Duskbloods, Fatal Frames 2, the Dragon Quest remakes, all happened in general purpose Directs, the Partner showcases are for updates and port announcements of less important games. I made a joke with my friends, that they would reveal GTA 6 for NS2... but even if such a reveal did happen, I can guarantee it wouldn't be in a Partner showcase.

Little annoyed I was hoping for more info on ER or duskbloods.

Guess they’re saving those for a 1st Party Direct.

I don’t know about ER, but I believe Duskbloods is published by Nintendo worldwide - Which makes it a genuine Switch 2 exclusive title.

And complementing what I said above, there are no "1st party Directs", except those dedicated to a single game like the Tomodachi one.

The only thing I thought could be announced that would get me hyped was FF9 remake but I think people need to be realistic with third party expectations. Playstation/PC is the target for most new games and so I don't think you should expect many games to be revealed via a Nintendo Direct showcase

Naturally you will get lots of port announcements and so far I'd say it's an impressive amount. Easily the best year Nintendo has had support wise in decades

There is a 100% chance that a Nintendo Direct will come either on or the week of 2/17. Two more filings (in addition to the Splatoon Raiders one from a few days ago) list 2-17 as a “publication date.”

Also, a Rhythm Heaven Direct for 2-25 seems plausible since that game has a publication date of 2-25. This would suggest a May/June launch window…my guess is June for Rhythm Heaven, allowing Yoshi to take May (to take advantage of the SMGMovie hype). Or Yoshi could come the week of the Mario Movie… that would be an interesting strategy.

Dragon Quest VII Reimagined was announced at a Nintendo Direct, and we already know through countless interviews that Square plans to fully support the NS2 going forward, so it's 100% possible for a new FF to be announced at a Direct, just not at a *Partners Showcase* Direct as I explained already.

Yeah, that's what I mean. FF9 was my only realistic huge announcement, but broadly speaking I don't see many  devs taking SEs approach and I also think Dragon is unique in that its majority audience in Japan as this on Switch. But yeah, partner directs seem more intended for more updates and release scheduling, not biggies

But what would the story be like in Xenoblade Chronicles 4? The franchise has already explored the themes of mortality vs immortality, racism, whether living weapons should have civil rights, interplanetary war, destiny and bioweapons. I don't know what other themes the series can implement.

I have decided to wage a war in defense of GKCs. I see no problem with them, and I want to convince people that they shouldn’t be so outraged either.

They're just so lazy and pointless, like the developers aren't even TRYING to get their games to fit on Switch 2 game cards.
