Just finished the main story. 10/10. Easily the best 3d platformer since odyssey.
Treasure tie level 3 makes finding the collectibles a breeze.
Ride The Chariot | ‘25 Completion
Without being spoiled, I understand that if you go straight through the story stuff, the game is only a bit longer than Mario Odyssey overall. Completing it though is longer than Odyssey.
So basically, you can dabble with it as much as you like and I'm sure gonna take my sweet time with it considering we ain't getting another one like this before some time haha.
Yeah ... Smashing is fun !
Just got to the 3rd layer btw.

Got a fair bit into the game now my earlier view on DKB can be added to in order to highlight the type of game it is, it clearly fills the void left by Banjo but how ever the similarities end up being vague ones at most as structure wise DKB is closer to Conker than Banjo and unlike both and even 3D Mario it's not focused on collecting a certain item to progress it's more a platformer/adventure game at times feeling more like the latter. The bananas in the game are for obtaining and leveling up skills they're not for unlocking progression but have much more incentive to seek out in this game (skills are obtained whenever the player wants with the exception of initially obtaining the Bananza abilities), the game is more based around set pieces and boss fights rather than the puzzle based exploration you get in 3D Mario and Banjo.
The is no real comparison out there for DKB it's its own thing it may be made by the Odyssey team and have elements of SMO but the game takes significant cues from BOTW/TOTK.
Been wondering why I dont love Donkey Kong Banaza and I realized its the music. Its not great compared to the DKC games. They should have gotten David Wise to do the soundtrack. Its fun to play and the levels are good, but without the great soundtrack it just doesnt go beyond a great platformer.
With how much love was put into this game, will they have anything as good as DK Bananza to celebrate Donkey Kong's 45th anniversary next year?
