Decent opening for ARMS, abysmal shipping policy by Nintendo.

They didn't even give it the 80k bump they gave for the Splatfest and MK8D. Makes me wonder if their production actually went down instead of up.

Edit: Also yay, for Zelda passing 500k on Switch!

How's the Switch stock problem compared to the Wii. Isn't the Wii still manage to reach higher number despite it being supply constrained? If so then Nintendo fucked up so badly right now.

For Japan you should look up the VGC-database, worldwide Trucks did it:

Basically the Switch had way higher first week sales, then the Wii had higher follow-up-weeks. But keep in mind, the Wii released over the holidays. Week 7 was the first January-week for Wii, you can see weekly numbers dropping at that point. Basically I think it looks like Switch sells around the same as Wii did.

In my opinion, it's not very impressive for what is supposed to be the Switch's big game in almost 2 months.

Oh I see. The Wii seems to have better first year though. The Switch start up strong but drop quickly because stock issue. If Nintendo doesn't fix this the gap will only get bigger.

Recent Switch sales make me question if Nintendo's production capacities even reach the 750k units per month that I expected. Either it's closer to 600k per month or they are putting units on the side to have a higher stream of consistent supply beginning with the launch of Splatoon 2

I would like to know which component is holding them back. I don't think it's the Tegra, Nvidia planned them to be used on all mobile devices but basically only Switch uses it. I'm leaning to think it's either the screen (JDI makes it) or the flash memory (competing with all smart devices for some chips).

Pretty good for ARMS but legs will be more interesting. Ys VIII is also holding for some reason.

SFV and TK7 didn't have digital sales?

1) for digital only Switch users, buying digitally from Japan is cheapest and you get the game early. A lot of people did this for ARMS.
2) ARMS on Amazon included a discount code for Splatoon 2 if you bought there and it charted pretty high.

Thats why digital sales for ARMS are expecting that are very strong.

Your first point was also true for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and that didn't really help..

Also Amazon is only one retailer. It can only have so much impact.

And SFV had strong digital sales too (22%). We don't have Tekken 7 digital numbers yet.

Either way SFV and Tekken bombed hard so they do deserve to be beaten lol

Wii had stock issues for 18 months after launch. They were just able to produce more because they weren't competing against smartphone manufacturers for parts.

Interesting info, ARMS only needed to sell 74 more units to beat the combined opening for SFV and TK7's first week. But apparently ARMS has also strong digital sales so probably outsold combine SFV and TK7 in 1st week.

Do you know the digital to physical ratio?

Decent opening for arms. Switch stock supply disappoints though.

Ps4 up from 19k to 24k post MHW announcement. Coincidence?

YS8, minecraft vita and ps4, gta V and Nier all displaying excellent legs.

PS4 vs PS3 comparison by Hiska-san

PS3 will take the lead most likely in 3/4 weeks. In 6 weeks ps3 crosses the 5m milestone. If DQ11 releases in 6 weeks ps4 could also match that milestone.

A super close and interesting battle.
