Forums - Nintendo - How do you describe the Nintendo Switch to a layperson?

It's an overpriced handheld that plays WiiU games and other old games, and you can plug it to your TV.

Also it has the dumbest vocal chat system ever made.

That's not trolling, I just said what I think about the system. Get over yourself, not everybody likes the Nintendo Switch

No one gives a shit about your biased opinion either ¯_(ツ)_/¯

There's a difference between a description and an opinion. Had they asked for an opinion, the thread would've asked.

Many people on here probably have issues with the switch, but they don't mention it for a clear reason

Yes it is. The first sentence of your description is hyperbolic since the Switch also has new games to play.

This is your final warning. If you decide to keep going at it, you will be moderated.

That's the thing about the Switch, I don't have to describe it, I can take it out of my laptop bag and show it off.

Within 3 seconds I'm unlocking it and showing Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

And you would blow most people's minds, especially those of the Game Boy era.

I don't own Switch, but my brother asked me what it was.

I told him - "it's a hybrid console, you can play it on the go (and he's a lot on the go), but you can also play it when you come back home and connect it to TV"...he was very excited.

Then he asked me about the games...mostly AAA western...I said "mostly, no"...he was a lot less excited.

Technically, unless you're working for a video game company, you're a layperson. Most gaming fans, particularly the ones who like to say "I'm a h@rdc0r3 g@m3r!!" generally know considerably less about the industry than they believe they do.

The question is "

How do you describe the Nintendo Switch to a layperson?"

That's just how I would describe it now. when it will actually have games that are not old or WiiU games, I would describe it differently. Until then, I'm not going to lie to someone.

Lol I never said anyone should care about my opinion. But the question was "how do you describe it to a layperson", I am not going to describe it saying it's a great system with great features when I don't think it is.

Nevertheless, when it will have more games and a decent price, I will probably describe differently.

Do you simply ignore whatever people say?

My point wasn't whether you love or hate the switch. However, one typically doesn't insert their own opinions when you describe anything to a layperson.

Look at every other response. Some people here are very critical of the Switch, and yet they don't mention anything about it being 'overpriced' or having no games. Makes you wonder...

What about positive bias, is that allowed or just as big of a mistake?

Anyways, the question was about describing Switch to a layperson, not to this forum, right? I don't think it's the business of this forum to moderate how its members would describe things to people IRL. You might not like his opinion, and his opinion might be unfounded, but then that's a different matter entirely.
