I'm pretty sure PS4 can do all of it wireless.

Not with friggin' bluetooth it can't! It won't work with my goddamn SONY Bluetooth headset until this very day. I used the same exact headset on the PS3 for years and it worked flawlessly. Not anymore! Ok, maybe it's too old, how about some new SONY headphones from 2016? Nope, sorry, won't work! But yeah, why in the world should a SONY headset work with a fuckin' SONY console?!
Sorry, I'm still a little fucking pissed off because of the shitty bluetooth support on PS4. I'm using bluetooth headsets on steam and it works like a charm. Until now, I couldn't use a single headset on the PS4. Not the official PS3 bluetooth headset, not the Sony MDR-1RBT, not the Sony MDR-1ABT, not the Bose SoundLink OnEar, nothing. I always have to wear that shitty headset that was in the box underneath my good headphones. Plus I have a fucking cable hanging on my controller. I hate cables.
Screw you, Sony!

Yeah, the PS4's online communication service is just terrible, I've had many issues with it. I was able to solve the wireless bluetooth problem by buying an adapter (which will now come in handy with the Switch as well apparently), but to this day when my friends and I gather into a group there's always this bizarre issue with some people being unable to hear specific other people and so forth, to the point that we have to basically carry messages from one person to another on their behalf. It's absolutely rediculous that they still haven't fixed that after four years.
So far my best experience with online communication on consoles was the Xbox360, but even that was fairly shitty. It's always a jarring experience to go from the better experiences of the available options of the PC to those options available on the consoles; it really seems absurd that they haven't picked up their game, but I suppose the monopolistic nature of communications on a closed platform means there isn't much incentive to improve the experience.
That the Switch, even using Bluetooth for their joy-cons, somehow decided to neither include bluetooth for headsets nor put audio jacks on any of their controllers is likewise absurd. It can be fairly frustrating, but I've just come to expect it at this point.
