Sony created the model by which games with gold follows. If Sony was losing you would see them putting out all the stops on psn plus to gain popularity. Sonys never had the exclusives problem Microsoft has had so they don't have to create distractions with old games to sate a less demanding crowd for diversity and new experiences. If Sony covered their psn plus on par with Microsoft (which isn't entirely necessary right now) this competition beteeen the two would be over.

Weird how you're describing a company not giving a shit because they're leading in sales as if it's a good thing you're proud of.
Sony makes tons of money off of PSN now and sadly it's resulted in no improvements to their network and a substantial drop off in quality of the games they offer. You don't need to beat your chest about it, as a consumer it's not a positive thing for you.

Yeah you're right that Sony has made a lot of money off of psn plus: however, they could not justify charging their gamers for something they gave for free without an added bonus to sweeten the deal. PSN plus started off small but built up into something great. Even Microsoft had to replace their flawed model of charging gamers simply for online. This was when they were trailing Microsoft and were obviously trying hard and bleeding money. I mean, Sony is still giving away games.... they just happen to be indies. I felt worse about Microsofts lack of new games at the end of the 360 era than something a small as sonys games with gold. Once again... if Sony had a strong psn plus... they would pretty much have Microsoft beaten in almost every business category.
Sony has made a ton of improvements to psn and Microsoft has made many to Xbox live. That's kind of how competition works. Both have sharing and videos social media. I can even sort my games into folders to be more convenient unlike xbox live. It's easier to navigate for sure now that xbox live has everything attached to the side snap wall. sonys similar snap type has all of the necessary elements... that I find to be complimentary. At the end of the day both have grown tremendously.
