Windows x.y is the most secure and stable OS ever! How many times did they say something like this? It looks like it just comes natural to them.

So instead they opted for an Amazon Prime style membership plan with "free" stuff and discounts/perks for members. They're charging on PS4 and as a result of no longer needing the great "free" games to entice people to get PS+, the games offered have turned to almost entirely indie trash. There's nothing to celebrate there, it's all bad for us as consumers. We get worse games, and now have to pay for online play on a pretty meh network. And that's the saddest part of all, the network. Seems like nothing has changed since PS3. What you're describing are UI changes, not the network. All this free money off PSN and they're putting none of it back into improving the network. Same latency issues, same horrid download speeds, same shit voice quality. But hey they're leading in sales! No point in me discussing this further here. |
Show me on the doll where Sony touched you

In all seriousness though, what's your PSN name?
Theyre charging for PS+ directly as a result of Microsoft charging people for XBL. That's the bottom line so you really have no room to smack talk when it's your own favorite company that pioneered the shitty practice. What Sony added to the subscription model actually improved it by including the free monthly games. Quality is Irrelevent in this discussion and subjective to the individual. I would genuinely rather take games like Abzu or Alien Nation over stuff like mass effect which I've already played, purchased and beaten in the past. Also indie=/=trash. In fact the indies given out on + are high quality and do a great job at giving exposure to devs that might otherwise get passed on due to visibility (too many games release on PSN, it's easy to get buried). But go ahead and keep spin spin spinnin'. Seems like daddy Phil is teaching you something.
What tools have you been using to measure PSN performance by, anyway? What metrics are you looking at? Max speed, average, consistency, latency... How are you measuring this, what's your sample size, and how much historic data do you have logged to draw from? Because from my experience a 40gb game downloads in under an hour for me, I can't remember the last time I got disconnected from any game nor do I recall the last time PSN actually went out for me. But I'm interested in you being able to prove your claims so we know this isn't just shit you're pulling out of your ass.
lol goober, I was on your PSN list for months.
And to correct you, I wasn't bitching about having to pay to play online. I don't mind paying if the service warrants it :)

The formatting on this is ugly but replies in italic
Just to correct you, again, I never "complained about Sony putting online play behind a paywall". I complained about them doing nothing with the money they got from the paywall to improve their network, and using the paywall requirement to dramatically lessen the quality of games they offer on PS+. Hope that helps :)

Microsoft CEO: “Xbox Live Is the Biggest Gaming Social Network;” Talks “Connecting the Dots Around Gaming. http://www.dualshockers.com/microsoft-ceo-xbox-live-biggest-gaming-social-network-talks-connecting-dots-around-gaming/ Xbox Live = 52 million MAU. https://mspoweruser.com/microsoft-reports-52-million-active-xbox-live-users-last-quarter/ Steam in the last 2 weeks = 40 million people, ONLY TWO WEEKS! Likely >70 MILLION MAU. Now PSN: 70 MILLION MAU. Come again Microsoft, who is the biggest gaming platforms!? LMAO |
All I see is MS talking about their business and how gaming is connected to their network, but I also see someone trying hard on making something out of it.
Proud to be a Californian.
