Which would make no sense.

Think about the reasons why somebody would want a Switch, then think about other devices that offer the same things. It can only be Switch as there is no substitute.

A parent getting a portable gaming device for their kid could opt for a cheap tablet instead, while a gamer could opt for a PS4 instead.

You really dont have replacement for Switch (hybrid hardware), Zelda BotW, MK8D and local multiplayer (at home or at go) right out of box, cheaper tablets and PS4 don't offer that, so most people who cant find now will buy one later when its availible. Also its not like Switch is 1st console that has stock shortages, Wii and PS4 also had them, but of course that Nintendo need to solve shortages most sooner they can.

For less discerning shoppers a cheap tablet or a PS4 will fill in just fine, especially if its a parent buying for their kid. A lot of people if they can't get what they wanted will buy a substitute instead of going home empty handed and trying again later.

There is reason why Switch is popular and why people are buying, and like wrote cheap tablet or PS4 cant be replace for Switch (hybrid hardware), Zelda BotW, MK8D and local multiplayer (at home or at go) right out of box. But yes there is for instance case when parrent is buying present for birthday for kid, in that case if they cant find Switch they will buy something else, but if parent or kid really like Switch, they will bought it later in some other occasion. Like I wrote, its not like Switch is 1st console that has stock shortages, Wii and PS4 also had them.

Plenty of stock of Switch at Pomona, Sacramento, San Francisco and Los Angeles as I was in the states the last week of April in Target, Walmart and Best Buy

Also plenty of stock of Switch at JB Hi-Fi, EB Games and Big W here in Australia. A lot of "bundles" as options.

But not everyone who can't get one will wait. Many will buy something else instead. Or if they want it enough, they'll get one from a scalper. Either way, its Nintendo's loss.

Well the jig is up, guys. Vgchartz forum members have established indisputably that there are no Switch stock shortages anywhere in the world. Looks like our plot to suggest that some people who would otherwise buy one can't easily at the moment has been foiled again.

Would have gotten away with it if it weren't for those meddling kids etc

And they keep coming lol

In Poland right now. In Portugal is a similar situation though.

Again, the question is... if there's that much demand there, why not import from a different country here in the single market?

Maybe shipping cost would potentially wipe out any profit to be made or make profit too small to be worth the trouble?

I don't think so, I've ordered personally several items across europe (a bunch from the UK) and the ones I had to pay for shipping were never above 20 Eur for sure.

So if anyone really wants one I'm sure a 20Eur (max) shipping will not be a red line. Hell, order 5 and sell them around to those in need :)

I would think people on this site that can't get one will import if they want one so much, as for your average Joe they probably don't know it's region free or even what that means.

Slightly dull week, but understandable, considering that it follows very strong ones, the season and, for NS, supplies still lower than demand in the places where it sells best.
Zelda climbs again to 2nd place, with attach rate still very strong too. That game isn't just the current best seller on NS, its lifetime sales will remain amongst the strongest even after the main Mario and Pokémon titles arrive.

One of the problems in Europe is that there are as many types of powerplugs as there are languages in Europe. The Germans, UK, France all have a different kind of powerplug. With Sony that usually isn't a problem since it uses a standard EU something powercable that goes into the console. I don't know if that rule also applies for Nintendo though.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar
