I miss the "Live in your world, play in ours" slogan. :( |
I'd forgotten about that... but that was a great slogan.

I like these ads, they show gaming. look MLB'08. A controller, the X button. It works well. If these are printed ads that will be amazing.

Ths first one could be a commercial made for the anticipation of GoW3 :)
Vote the Mayor for Mayor!
Pretty sweet.
I don't understand what you guys want...another white background, plain text commercial with the latest Fallout Boy song showing a few game clips and the PS3 logo? Boring and stupid.
At least this is interesting.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release. (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )
After reading your responses, the interesting thing to note is that there's quite a mix of reactions to the commercial. Some like it, some don't.
I think to some degree that's exactly what Sony want. Commercials and advertising that makes people talk. Advertising that evokes a response in the viewer.
Personally when I see a Wii ad on television I completely blank it out.
I know exactly what I'm going to see, (A celebrity playing Wii sports) it's completely boring, bland and unoriginal.
Microsoft had some really interesting commercials near launch (the giant picking up the man). They've also had some great game advertisements (Gears of War) but I've haven’t seen a decent commercial recently advertising the 360.
I like it when one of the big three experiment with their commercials, and "innovate" to coin a phrase bandied about so frequently near the launch of the Wii.

| twesterm said: I hate this crap. THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH GAMES! NOTHING. What kind of overly simple person would see that and think damn, that sure is pretty. In fact, it's so pretty I'm just going to pick up a PS3! Screw seeing what games or features it has, that's some pretty artwork!" If you want to advertise the PS3, show games, show people playing the games, and show people having fun (like some commercials I won't name). |
I think a person has to be simple to think that only in your face, blatantly obvious adverts are effective. Sony has nearly always made abstract adverisment. It's much better to be creative than to be blunt in my opinion. I like these new adverts a lot.
Hmmm...
A girl stoned while playing PS3....
A boy stoned while playing PS3...
I get it!
They're stoned because the promised exclusives take a damn long time to come out!
Interesting but odd, I would have to see the full ad to see if it works
my favourite ads are the Sony Bravia ones, if only they could do the same for PS3
GoW3 and Resistance2??
Well is kinda pointless this kind of ads, without any game/related theme this is just the printed version of "This is Living"
