There's many possibilities in my opinion. Shooting from downtown on this one.

Me and my co-worker was actually talking about that possibility. If they seriously make a portable PS4 Sony can absolutely name their price.

It would be really cool (though very very doubtful it will ever happen) if Sony made a laptop that was capable of running the PS4 OS as well as traditional Windows.

I assumed $249 based on past/general handheld launch prices, as well as Switch being down to that price by that time. This keeps PS4P affordable as well as competitive, with a whole lot of backing behind it. Change over to carts like Switch and PS has got a viable competitor. The hardware would have to be ARM like in Switch, but with the API built to easily (as possible) transfer X86 console to ARM handheld, a lot like Switch as well.

Yep! It will be interesting.........

Pocky Lover Boy!

The gap between the PS4 Pro and the Scorpio, known as "The Most Powerful Console Ever" is bigger than the Switch and PS4 Slim.

I really don't think they care tbh. They're running games scaled to 4k, whereas the average consumer doesn't understand any of that, so what's Microsoft going to market? TRUE Native 4k! Oh but uh my Pro runs on my 4k display already with HDR sir.

In terms of graphics? no. (4k checkerbording vs native 4k = not a huge differnce, smaller than Switch vs PS4)

More to graphics than just the rendering resolution, you know that right?
Scorpio will be able to take advantage of higher details that is exclusive to the PC's multiplats right now... And let me assure you. The graphics difference can be rather pronounced.

And it means a whole lot of nothing when it costs more and has zero exclusive games.

Not everyone actually cares about exclusives.

The issue that I think Microsoft is in... Is that there are large chunks of casuals who think the Multiplats are exclusive because a ton of game advertising is centered around the PS4 and not the Xbox.
The Playstation 4 tends to win more news cycles as well, it's free advertising for Sony almost.

Scorpio should help wind that back a little, even if it has no exclusives. (Which Microsoft should fix, Halo, Forza and Gears isn't enough.)

If the Xbox Scorpio launches with a 3.0-3.5GHz Ryzen CPU

I highly doubt this is going to occur.

By dropping the price to 349 for PS4P they will have at least 100$ difference between Scorpio I think. That should be more than enough to counter it. Moreover apart from higher res I do not see any other advantage of Scorpio. 1440P or 1800P checkboard or supersampled at 1080P TV will look sharp anyways. It is not like 720P or 900P which I guess is not acceptable these days.

I am sure PS4P slim will release in 2018.

No, it's not.

Huh? Are you saying that Phil and MS are false advertising to consumers about the Scorpio? ;)

Gap wise? yes.
%-wise? no.  (scorpio vs ps4pro = ~42%? differnce, while PS4slim is like 400%+ of the Switch)

How does Sony respond? They lower price 50$, and go "ours is 150$ cheaper"

349$ PS4pro vs 499$ Xbox Scorpio.... price wins.

They might try abit harder on 1st party games output, even if they are dominating in that reguard already.

There might not be much difference between Checkerboard rendering and 4k on screen however the power to render native 4k is still very huge.

Ryzen? So 60+ fps in most games finally? About damn time.

I was hoping the Pro would do it, but its useless Jaguar CPU holds it back.
