Oh, that's a tough question, considering the numbers of these 2 games are neck and neck. Seeing how Mario is returning to the 3D style type of game from Mario 64, perhaps it will edge out in the end. Mario is also a well established IP that has stood the test of time. Splatoon is still rather fresh and it's uncertain whether Spla2n will be another success.

That's my logic. Splatoon 2 just looks like dlc to Splatoon. Maybe it plays a lot better but my Splatoon addiction ended after a month and I never went back. My daughter still plays it to this day, though.

Both will outsell their Wii U predecessors but Super Mario Odyssey will most likely outsell Splatoon 2 by a good amount.

Super Mario 3D World didn't sell too well, because people had already played 3D Land and other 3D Marios, and the game had nothing really original or remarkable. Splatoon on the other hand, was a fresh, original game, and everyone wanted to try it out.

Now, the situation has changed. Splatoon 2 is just another Splatoon game, while Super Mario Odyssey is different from all previous Mario games.

Im not sure who is gonna win but splatoon people be underestimating. It can match the original sales (well close to) in japan alone lol. I hope both sell more than 10mil though

Why!? SM3DW is such a great game. We can easily have SM3DW2 after Mario Odyssey in any case.

My money would be on Super Mario Odyssey.

Even Splatoon 2 will have great sales, Super Mario Odyssey will win because its bigger IP.
