No the's more than enough space, I say this as a Switch owner, the's around 6mm of space is which is why the Switch is loose when inserted and can easily rock back and fourth. You have to be reckless or deliberate to scratch it in the manner claimed.

Unfortunately I too am a switch owner so I can call bullshit on that.

Here's the tiny gap either side *AFTER* installing foam strips along the outside to keep the console away from them - its a tight fit, the foam pushes the dock gap wider so without the foam the plastic tabs gap would be even smaller.

6mm my foot.

Here's a proper clear pictures of where the two plastic parts are.

So yes 6mm of clearance otherwise the system wouldn't rock back and fourth, when the system is fully leaning one way the's about 6mm of space. You have bit's of foam holding your Switch in place that's why you think it's a tight fit.

I now intentionally took it out and placed it in the dock ten times with increasing speed and nothing happened, no scratches at all. I don't understand how to scratch it at all.

Are you measuring the gap from console to outer edge? Because its the internal wedges we are talking about here and there is *NOT* 6mm of clearance either side.

From the internal wedges, here I've placed the system in a brightspot to highlight my point.

No way is this gap only 1mm as you wouldn't be able to look through it like this with light shining through, sorry but that's not true and read the post properly as I said 6mm clearance so at least 3mm either side, so when the unit is leaning back fully touching one side it's got a 6mm gap on the other.

My whole family wants to have their own Zelda experience. With four users all trying to play the same game...at the same time...on the same system, I have to wait my turn.

Internal tabs = 26.85 - 25.18 = 1.67mm, thus tabs take up 3.34mm
Console width: 14.17mm
Slot in dock: 19mm

14.17+3.34 = 17.51

19-17.51=1.49mm, thus the console in a best case scenario, has 0.745mm either side, give or take .05mm - So at the very extreme, 0.7mm to 0.8mm either side, 1.4 - 1.6mm total.

We done?

Only issue is I cannot find one, sold out everywhere

The joycon wrist straps are bastards to get off if you accidentally put them on the wrong way. Had to get a flat-head screwdriver to detach it from the joycon, seems like a bit of an oversight, but its the only negative I've found so far.

A big issue, there is no splashcreen while loading a title.

That's an ugly black screen.
