Well with the red card, I dont get any discounts...

And the point of the warranty is if your game dies within the year since it is a used copy, it has a higher chance of dying sooner.

And of course, its $10 off from a $60 game where as if you got a new copy for $10 more, it would always work and it wont have any scratches. Also the resell value would be higher if you keep your games in good conditions

Any games I've had that have died typically died in the first month. Not sure i've had any games die a year later.

Happened to me once after buying melee for GameCube. And the resell value would also be lower since I havnt seen a used copy that had hardly any scratches.

The reason I use amazon tho (apart from not dealing with that) is because with prime membership, you get 20% off of pre-orders and new games which released less than 2 weeks ago. So my new game price essentially beats their used game price. Amazon does have a yearly fee but since I use amazon for many other things including their prime video, its easy for me to justify it. My student discount of 50% off yearly prime is still going so...

If your used copy goes bad outside of the First month, odds are it's your own fault.

Watch me stream games and hunt trophies on my Twitch channel!

GameStop is amazing for used games. Anyone who's purposefully avoiding them just helps me in the long run

For me it's generally "I'd rather shop other places than Gamestop" because that is pretty much it, the staff in our local store here just seems to revel in the fact that they are bad at their jobs and laugh at the fact that as a store they are inferior to the other options to buy games both in town and online.

Only real time I find myself looking in the store is if there is a huge sale advertised and normally even then the stuff on psn or places like CEX in town are still cheaper.

I only buy at gamestop when someone gives me gift vouchers for there, and even then, it's normally just a purchase of psn credit to the value of the voucher.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

It could be that maybe it got one additional scratch after a certain amount of time which was the last straw for it but if it was a new copy, it would have been able to endure it for a lot longer.

Which again, goes back to why I hate buying used games. The reason it failed isn't because of say the one additional scratch, it failed because of all the scratches leading upto it + the additional scratch.

To stay in the spirit of the concept of the OP:

I'd rather get ass-blasted by porn star Lex Steele with a sandpaper condom than shop at Gamestop.

In all seriousness though, I hit my local Gamestop if I am making an impulse game purchase. Otherwise it is Amazon.

I prefer online over brick and mortar in general. Haven't been in a Gamestop for a couple years now.

Meh, Gamestop isn't that bad. I used to dislike them because every time I bought a used game from them it was almost always broken, plus every store where I live had a snot nosed manager with snot nosed staff. Recently started shopping there again though and the staff is all around much better and helpful but I don't buy used games anymore, thank Gamestop for that

Edit: I didn't shop at a Gamestop for at least 5 years, also I've stopped trading in games so their awful trade in values has no affect on me

I'd rather shop at Best Buy than shop at Gamestop
