Forums - Politics - Berlin to Donald Trump: 'Don't build this wall

Your Stance?

For the wall 91 37.92%

Against the Wall 149 62.08%

Total:240

Welp, it's too late now. People didn't want to listen, now they will have to find out the hard way. Maybe after Trump destroyed the economy along with relationships to virtually any country on the planet, maybe after China takes America's place as the global superpower people finally get behind the fact that, fear, hate and isolation will bring you nowhere.

Prediction: There will be numerous terrorist attacks in the US in the next 4 years. Banning people from certain muslim countries will change nothing. I'm even willing to bet that terrorist attacks are about to rise, as Trump does nothing but fuel the hate of those people.

Let's see.

Well he needs to create jobs somehow, building a wall is a start I guess. I have no preference for or against a wall it has its pros and cons. It will effect legal trade and (perhaps immigration) negatively and will cost a lot of money to build and maintain. But the South of the US of America will probably be less vulnerable for the influence of Mexican drug cartels. It might also slow the flow of illegal immigrants. It also creates jobs which is something good although that money could be better spent on America's infrastructure.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Says the guy who's country is currently being overrun by economic migrants from every 3rd world nation in the Mideast and northern Africa.

Edit:  For the record, while "the wall" is a good idea in theory, in reality I'm not in favor of it because I know it's going to end up costing way more than estimated (as most government run projects do, especially in the construction biz), and our resources are much better spent on increasing the border patrol and enforcing existing immigration laws.

A bit hyperbole no? With those 'million' of immigrants people expected horrible things especially economic wise, and Germany is one of the countriest with one of the lowest unemployment numbers and even every year see their debt schrinking (some on vgchartz were not born when the last time the debt shrinked in the usa).

Honestly economic wise I prefer to live in a country like Germany or even Canada..

German unemployment numbers are not comparable because they do not include someone who is in government courses like basic language etc., so migrants are not in the official unemployment statistic. The middle class has been pushed out of the statistic because you are not allowed to have more than marginal wealth if you want your benefits - statistics have been polished this way for a decade.

I remember some German politician or bishop comparing Israel's wall to some NS concentration camp - did not fly over that well.

Politics 101. Rule by fear or hatred.

Now let's all focus on those damn Mexicans because if we keep on telling our good and backward citizens we need to blame the black people for everything that is wrong, well, we know where that is gonna go. So now you have a common enemy and the cop/citizen killing/hatred can focus on Mexicans.

Except they're not blaming Mexicans are they? They're blaming illegal immigrants. The millions of legal hispanic immigrants, they have no problem with.

How did we get to the ridiculous point where being against illegal things is bad in some people's eyes?

It is simple, the same day that Trump says 'no more refugeese' was around the same time USA said in the 30's ' no more jews refugees' in the 30's....And those refugees ended up getting killed in germany.maybe you missed it but the jewish community is pissed at the moment with trump.

I mean it is nice that we had hollywood movies/series like band of brothers how USA soldiers felt so bad when they found those death camps;....but many of those usa soldiers also felt bad because they know some of those people were people trying to get in usa but were not allowed and ended up in those camps.

Unemployment rates by government should be taken with a grain of salt.

Using unemployment rates the USA economy looks like its booming...

Because this isn't a stance against illegal things, it's against illegal people.  And that's a big difference.  It's one thing to acknowledge that illegal immigration is an issue.  It's quite another thing to claim that the bulk of them are violent criminals.  You can deal with the issue while also acknowledging that most people who cross the border legally are not looking to destroy America, but to support their families.

Also, you can devise a method that works instead of building a giant ineffective wall that the American people are going to pay for.

Can you name the jewish terrorist organisation that killed people in London, Paris, Nice, Brussels, Berlin etc?

A country so caught up in dangerous levels of racism and nationalism shouldn't lecture other countries on hubris.

Germany is like : "we once had a guy like trump..... didnt go so well for us"

Both of them also used toilet paper.

Seriously, whomever came with this comparison not only is making a few huge assumptions, but also forgot to include the biggest problem with Hitler.

You mean that Hitler took inspiration from Martin Luther?

Except the fact that Germany as one of the only ones has a decreasing debts in the west, the econimic growth + unemployment numbers are always a bit flawed.   It is a discussion I don't want to join because it is basically 'every country reports it different' and I don't know it all..
