Forums - Nintendo - The next Donkey Kong Country game needs to be for everyone, not expert level players.

Its not a easy game, however its never really unfair.
You just gotta keep trying eventually you ll get past the hardest levels.
Its rewarding when you do, because of the challenge.

Is the difficulty level too high? Im not sure. I feel like its just right as is.
I can see this being too hard for some though.

Nintendo already has Mario, Kirby, and Yoshi covering that base.
After that, the next one needs to be challenging to the point where it makes yout palms sweat, DKC fills that role perfectly.

I swear, you're the only one here who keeps complaining about DKC!

IMO its the best platformer the Wii U had/has.

I dont get the complaints either.

But I agree its probably not as kid friendly as something like Mario is.

Honestly I feel like thats okay, DKC is ment for slightly better players, and perphaps a older audience.

So basically you want Nintendo to ignore expert players when they already have other 15 platform franchises for everyone, and just to push a few more units.

I thought the fact that it was challenging was a selling point

disagree whole heartedly. Something like New Super Mario Bros is boring as hell because it IS wayyyyyyy too easy.

The last thing a Donkey Kong Country game should be criticized for is being hard. You just didn't try hard enough. If the next DKC game was not challenging that would alienate its fanbase.

Again, NSMB is aimed at kids and general audiences. it is overbearingly easy to the point where you're just hopping around catching coins practically

I think the difficult was expertly balanced in Tropical Freeze. What's wrong with a game being hard btw? It's far more rewarding to succeed after many tries.

^ Seems like alot of people are on the same Page, and dont agree with the OP.

Holy shit! That level looks awesome! I'm getting exhilarated just watching it! I'm... I'm sold!

Donkey Kong Country is a hard series. If you want easy, Nintendo has a product for you: It's called New Super Mario Bros.

I would like for the OP to play DKC2 and get back to me on difficulty.

Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda!!!!

Nintendo makes 3000 easy platformers a year. Why can't one be hard?

I hate this whole push to take challenge out of gaming. What's the point of it? How is an easy game enjoyable?

DKC is supposed to be difficult.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Well there are two different types of easy.
There's relaxing, stress-relieving easy and then there's' boring, uninteresting easy.

If a game is easy but everything built around it is so enjoyable and so spectacular that it's something that I have absolutely zero problem picking up and playing any time and it always puts a smile on my face, ESPECIALLY when all this other shit in my life is going on that has be stressing out, that's the relaxing, stress-relieving easy that I'm thankful for. For example: Super Mario Galaxy.

If a game is easy but everything built around it is very basic and by the numbers and there is absolutely nothing about it that makes it stand out or any big qualities, than outside of the gameplay itself there's no reason to go back to it because you know you're going to blow through it again, thus it makes it boring and uninteresting. Examples: The New Super Mario Bros. series.

There are 2 different types of easy, just like there are 2 different types of hard - Rewarding and challenging vs. Frustrating and bullshit.
