You know as well as I do the only time this game was talked about was when it was going to be Wii exclusive. I doubt anytime before then any PS3 owner not from Japan really cared about this game.

The only people that bitched about this were fanboys who, quite honestly, would have never played the game in the first place. It just gave fanboys something to bitch about.

If you look into my older posts I allways stated that MH3 for the PS3 will have difficulties reaching the 500k , and many others sayed the same ... I actually bealive that the Wii version will sell better than the PS3 version would have , but I also bealive that it wont even budge the PSP versions success mainly because its a home console , and devlopment cost has to be much higher ...

Find me history of a single person switching their stance on the game and I will wholeheartedly agree with you, on that person's flipping. You are assuming a whole group of people feel the same way. It's like how some Wii fans say that the HD consoles' sales could never affect the sale of Wiis because they are in different markets, and then other fans say that the sale of Wiis is affecting the sale of the HD consoles. Taken as a single group the two opinions seem hypocritical, but when you look at the posts of each single person you see very few individuals with both views.

I don't think so, globally it's more like Metal Gear Solid 4, Gran Turismo 5 and Final Fantasy XIII, the exclusive games (and GTA 4 as a multiplatform title) I read about on forums the most. Not suprisingly considering they all crushed Monter Hunter sales considerably on the PS2. For Japan Final Fantasy XIII is the most anticipated PS3 game by far.

Maybe the VGChartz data is incomplete, but Monster Hunter sales for the PS2 seem to have never even reached 1 million in worldwide sales:

and the PS3 have some games in 2008 to get decent sales (between 20 and 30.000 I hope) until FFXIII. MGSIV, white knight story, last remnant, burst limit, valkirie of the battlefield, biohazard 5 (may be 2008?), eternal sonata...

How did that get past me I have no idea.

Anyone who thought that MH3 sell good on a console needs to take a long hard look at Monster Hunter sales for the PS2, a console that's sold 5x what the Wii is at now.  

I've always wanted it on the PS3/360 for 'true' next-gen graphics, and because I don't plan on buying a Wii, so I'd want it on a home console.  The sales for the Wii version won't be higher than sales for the PS2, first, because the install base is nowhere near the PS2s, and because Monster Hunter doesn't sell on consoles.  

Anyone who believes that monster hunter will sell on the PS3/Wii/XBOX 360 as well as it's sold on the PSP is delusiona, because that would never happen.  Now if it was on the DS, that'd be a different thing.

But I'd like to see some posts where people said that this game would sell on the Wii.  I'd venture to say that the person who posted it is Crazzyman.

Granted I never played a Monster Hunter game, but it seems very visual with impressive movie scenes, boss fights and everything. I think the PSP is a much better fit than the DS for this sort of game:
