Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo showed zero graphically-impressive games on the Switch event.

I would love to have completely different experiences on the Switch than I have on my other console, without thinking "Man I wished the switch games looked as good as Doom".

What, people actually wish that Switch-games would look as good as Doom?

That's the case for the last 10 years. Why people seem so surprised?

They aren't. They had prepared the complaint already and ready, as they expected it the easiest target to spoil the fun for everyone who actually is into it.

When docked, most games are 60 fps and 1080p.

He has none. Mario and BoTW are confirmed 900p. The only 1080p60 game confirmed so far is Mario Kart 8.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

I agree. The games looks fun (Zelda and mario) but they are fairly underwhelming graphically. That's never been a problem to Nintendo faithfuls but I always come back to, imagine what Nintendo could create using more powerful hardware, Nintendo is extremely talented at software

Something that I can look at and say "Wow, this is impressive and definitely wouldn't be possible on the Wii U hardware".

I still don't understand why they decided to kill Wii U for... another Wii U, but without second screen and barely any advantages?

They could just release slim version of Wii U with compatible joycons in bundle and sell their casual games for casuals.

Maybe Retro's game will make you say that. If not, then I don't think anything will.

I dunno, Retro's last really graphically impressive game was in 2007. They don't really push tech anymore like they used to.

I must be on crazy pills but back in the day, Snes, N64 and Gamecube were graphical beasts. Now 3 consoles into the HD era and theyre struggling to hit 1080p. But hey the gameplay is still solid which is what matters to most.

Yep the Gamecube was a beauty for graphics.  The Wii,  Wii U and switch have all been very dissapointing in this regard.

I 100% disagree. They looked better than Wii U games. Mario looked amazing. Xenoblade 2 might be using UE4 if not it def has better lighting and textures and use of shaders. SMT looked slick. Fast Racing sequel looks a lot cleaner than the Wii U game.

That 100%^^

Also, I'm def. not playing Nintendo games for their graphically-impressivenes... :)

If they are really working on a new IP then I would like to think they are working on something closer to Metroid Prime than DKC.

I currently live in Edmonton, Canada and went into EB games today got some numbers. I know of 12 EB locally and each of them had a limit of 5 Breath of the Wild collectors edition at $199 each. All sold out and people calling all over trying to get them.

The console already nearly hit the 80 per store limit sold out (and that's by 6:30pm) I'm out in a smaller area so our location actually might have gotten less. The bigger locations might have 100 per store and well... lets say the Neon bundle is already sold out city wide by that time, with few regular versions left.

PS. For those who don't know... looks like you can by LAN adapters separately for the Switch. I'll be grabbing one if it doesn't have a cap like the PS4 does. Gotta go fast!
