The PS4 will sell more, unless the Switch becomes some kind of Wii-like sales phenomenon, which most probably won't happen, not with that price.

I honestly expect Switch to sell the most. Zelda, Splatoon 2 and Mario Odyssey (which looks like it can be as successful as Galaxy) for the first year is crazy. Zelda will sell a lot in America/Europe, Splatoon will sell a shit ton in Japan plus help out in America/Europe and Odyssey will sell amazing everywhere. If Capcom announces Monster Hunter for the Switch and Nintendo announces Pokemon for the Switch this year, that'll probably guarantee it'll sell a lot this year.

I don't think Switch can do those kind of numbers in its debut year. Not even close.
Especially without January and February.

but this is its launch year though... and we aren't talking about a november launch here but rather a march launch. It doesn't need january and febuary when it stands to sell 2M units in march alone.it comes down to how quickly nintendo can restock and hw high the demand for it is.

having said all that, I still don't think it will match PS4 sales this year. We could all be wrong though, and the switch becomes the new wii

PS4 selling better than the Switch in 2017 was to be expected. Switch had an amazing first year, but it wasn't enough to beat a popular console that's in its peak year.

This year however, neither will stand a chance against the AtariBox.

 There’s actually no reason to believe 2017 was peak year for PS4. 2018 is seeming more and more likely, especially seeing as it’s already up 500K YoY in just the first month. The exclusives lineup, plus the much better third party lineup, puts PS4 in a position to sell even better this year.
