Forums - Nintendo - Laura Dale rumor: Assassin's Creed 2017 is coming to the Switch

I'm wondering what will be scaled back if the low spec rumours are true.

Will it be lighting? Number of npc's on screen, animations? Fps? Additional details? Resolution?

Ubisoft and other companies have made games in the past where one version has varied greatly to the other. I remember the Ghostbusters game had a totally different art style compared to the HD version.

On the Master System, I remember my disappointment when I bought Sonic 2 and realised although it was Sonic 2, it was totally different to the Mega Drive one.

I wonder if we'll see a Sonic 2 situation, Ghostbusters situation or like Onion said, a simple case of scaling back on resolution, fps, details, npc's etc.

Well, the usual suspects are complaining.

I am a Nintendo fanatic.

Hehe was about to make a post about that...pretty much always the same people complaining.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

if this is true, then good bye for a hope that the next assassins creed would be worth a damn. if they want to regain interest in the series, dont limit it by making their next game have to run on a .15 teraflop device. use the power that the PS4 and XB1 consoles have to create an epic world.

Yeah mad disappointing news if true. The previous games Unity and Syndicate wouldn't run on the Switch.

The next AC is supposed to be a major overhaul of the series, I'm expecting it to be similar to Witcher 3 in scope.

Not a good idea, Ubisoft should focus on PS4 and Xbox One. Nintendo Switch will only restrict what an Assassin's Creed game could be capable of on the PS4 and Xbox One.

I do agree. This already makes my internet in next Assassins Creed lower. World size and other things will be impacted because of weaker hardware.

You guys are hilarious. Of Course that Switch will not restrict main game in any way and that Ubisoft can make game that use max of XB1/PS4 hardware power regardless of Switch hardware and Switch version of game. People forget that Wii that was around 20-30x less powerful than PS3/Xbox360 had Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 for instance, and of course that Wii version did not had effect or restricted in any way PS3/Xbox 360 versions of game. So saying that Switch version of game can effect on game on other platforms is pure nonsense. Evre XB1/PS4 game can be scaled down and made to work on Switch, especially because Switch is actually more modern tech/architecture than XB1/PS4 and has support for all modern engines, if developers want they can even make it work on PS3/Xbox 360 that have 2005 tech/architecture and less power than Switch. At end all comes to does devs think scaling down XB1/PS4 game for Switch will paid off, not "now because Switch we need to restrict XB1/PS4 versions of game" lol.

I can't understand why anyone is surprised by this news. I mean, wasn't also Laura Dale who claimed not so long ago that Ubisoft had 8 games in development for the Switch? t was obvious that one of those games was going to be an Assassin's Creed.

They will surely love March 12!

Pocky Lover Boy!

Nintendo is doomed without third party support, but god dammit how DARE they get third party support.

Good news if true, though I'm not the biggest fan of Assassin's Creed games.

I like how bringing games to the switch somehow means the game isn't gonna use the full power of the ps4/x1. When cod mw came out on the ps3/360, it was one of the best looking games on the consoles at its debut winning many "best graphics" award. Didn't stop it from being ported to the wii...

The point is this, games can be ported to the switch if companies want to while fully utilising the power of x1/ps4. But it depends on how much money they want to spend on porting it to the switch cause it will not be a straight port. It will cost them lets say $40 million to port it to the switch vs 5 million if the switch was more powerful. (In pachters example)

So why don't you complain about PS4 games sharing development with Vita Games on certain games? All those games could have been more better done just on the ps4, infact they could have been better games based on your logic.

I agree with whoever said usual suspects when it comes Nintendo (Last generation it was 360), because in all my time here, has anyone complained about ps4/vita.

I have no problem with this, like I had no problem with the "360 holding down the cell/blu-ray", or vita sharing games with the ps4, namely since the last two assassin creeds that were only for PS4/XBoxOne were two of the worse.
