It apparently doesn't take much effort to put 360 games on X1 BC. Capcom just has to give the okay assuming there isn't a licensing issue.

Making PS4 and X1 ports requires actual work/money from Capcom.

Well we know there was a liscensing issue with all the Marvel games made by Capcom, as they were forced to take them down from PSN/XBL.
Things are evidently better now though.

No, the deal they had just ended with MvC 2 and 3. While the original MvC stayed listed for a year longer.

Activision's Marvel games have been delisted and relisted as well.

I'm seeing a limited range of normal attacks. That pretty much throws out hope that this game would have 6 command normals, or even 4, for that matter.  Then again, I see Ryu using all punches in some combos, then all kicks in others, which seems to be going from light, medium, heavy.  I have no idea anymore.

I haven't played Marvel since MvC2 so I don't remember how it usually is. How many command normals were there per character in MVC3?

The games from X-Men vs Street Fighter up until Marvel vs Capcom had 3 punches and 3 kicks.

Marvel vs Capcom 2 replaced medium punch/kick with assist 1 and 2 (assists were done before by pressing medium punch + kick).  Medium punch/kick was done by pressing the light button twice.

Marvel vs Capcom 3 had light/medium/heavy attack, and a launch button.

I actually prefer the new set up.  Since most people are going to be playing the game on consoles, it makes sense to have a layout that's made with a console controller in mind.  I don't feel like buying an expensive joystick.

Nice getting this on pc, I have a better Dpad on my pc controller then the dualshock, I love this series I am really happy its coming back I still play the last installment on my vita every now and then

There's trigger buttons too.  The launcher button is a wasted command.  Everyone already universal launchers in the previous games.  It wasn't necessary to have a dedicated button for.  I would much prefer a 6 button set up to anything else, but a 4 button with lp &mp being mapped to the same is fine too.

There's such a lower range of combo posibilities being limited to the LMH set-up and it's very much, oversimplified.  MvC3 didn't even have half circle motions for attacks that uused to be half circle in older games.  These companies are basically saying, "You're too stupid to have a wider range of attacks."  Look at what they did to street fighter.

Haha, Capcom finally giving people want they wanted since MvC3, having X actually in the game (and not this X skinned Zero nonsense). Also, good to see a gameplay trailer. I was kinda disappointed by the initial reveal, as I don't really care for trailers with no gameplay footage in them. MvC Infinite is looking good, and the infinity stone mechanics seem like a cool new addition. Reminds me of those stones from... the Marvel vs Street Fighter game, I think?

I'm very happy to see Megaman X back.

Hope that means we will see more of him.

Thats exactly what I'm refering to. It was apparently difficult for Capcom to renew the liscense because Marvel wanted to make it as hard and expensive as possible, so that everyone would stop selling their Marvel games instead, so that Marvel would replace these with new (crappy) Marvel games they made themselves. And thats what happened. All Marvel games, including X-Men Children of the Atom, etc, were eventually taken down.
They changed management over the last year or so, and the new management expressed interest in collaborating with other studios in making Marvel games again.

I think it may also have to do with Disney existing the game developing/publishing market, so they are now more willing to let other companies use their properties.

Feels so much like SfxTekken, which is a bad thing.

And what were they thinking when they decided to remove assist atk?

Ultimately, licensing deals often end after a few years.

We can speculate why, but having a Marvel deal probably isnt worthwhile unless new products or remasters are coming.

A few years ago Marvel decided to replicate what they did in the movie industry. They wanted to make their own games instead of licensing out the properties. It didn't workout like they planned. They realized it was more profitable to go back to the old model.
